On Tuesday I decided to start my holiday tournament tour at York. Here is my recap from the 2nd Round of the Jack Tosh Holiday Tournament.

St. Ignatius - Naperville North

In the first half both teams did a lot of feeling out as it was a very low scoring game by halftime. [player_tooltip player_id='1157239' first='Luke' last='Williams'] (Naperville North) started the second half with a bang, scoring nine points for his team and giving them a slight lead. But not to be out done George Mason signee [player_tooltip player_id='989270' first='Richard' last='Barron'] and sophomore sensation [player_tooltip player_id='1385292' first='Phoenix' last='Gill'] made some plays on their own to keep Ignatius in the game. After another strong surge from Williams, Ignatius picked it up on both ends and got some extra scoring from [player_tooltip player_id='1285517' first='Reggie' last='Ray'] (9 points) and Justin Scott (9 points) which was enough to give Iggy the win. [player_tooltip player_id='1157239' first='Luke' last='Williams'] led all scorers with 25 points while Barron led Ignatius with 15 points while [player_tooltip player_id='1385292' first='Phoenix' last='Gill'] chipped in with 13.

Rolling Meadows- St. Patrick

This game started out with Rolling Meadows hitting a barrage of threes and jumping out to an early lead. [player_tooltip player_id='1371064' first='Tsvet' last='Sotirov'] hit 3 triples himself, followed by 2 from [player_tooltip player_id='939055' first='Cameron' last='Christie'] and another from [player_tooltip player_id='1385299' first='Ian' last='Miletic']. St. Pats scrapped their way back into the game with some hustle plays from [player_tooltip player_id='1279768' first='Andrew' last='Ayeni'] who got the game within 4 points at halftime. In the second half Rolling Meadows got a big push from Mark Nikolich‐Wilson and [player_tooltip player_id='1048317' first='Foster' last='Ogbonna']. Mark began passing through the zone and even found himself scoring a few at the rim. Ogbonna cleaned missed shots on both ends while also scoring some points in the paint. The play inside opened things up for Christie, who began hitting shots from all over and eventually gave Rolling Meadows the blowout win. [player_tooltip player_id='939055' first='Cameron' last='Christie'] finished with 18 points, [player_tooltip player_id='1215298' first='Mark' last='Nikolich-Wilson'] had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and [player_tooltip player_id='1048317' first='Foster' last='Ogbonna'] posted 14 points and 12 boards. [player_tooltip player_id='2104971' first='AJ' last='Thomas'] led St. Pats with 15 points.

Palatine - Yorkville

This game would become a part 2 of the [player_tooltip player_id='1541230' first='Connor' last='May'] show. From the start May hit a straight away three-pointer. Then he was the recipient of some transition points to give Palatine an early lead. Yorkville seems to have trouble with the zone pressure and turned the ball over several times. Before you knew it, Palatine was up double digits. [player_tooltip player_id='1537996' first='Tyler' last='Swierczek'] also had a big first half hitting a few threes after some solid ball reversals. Early on in the second half it was more of the same until [player_tooltip player_id='1285496' first='Jason' last='Jakstys'] asserted himself around the rim cleaning up some missed shots from teammates and blocking a few shots on the other end. Jakstys would also hit two threes himself in this one bringing the Foxes within nine with 2 minutes left in the game. His efforts would not be enough as Palatine would win and move to the Quarterfinals 69-55. [player_tooltip player_id='1541230' first='Connor' last='May'] led all scorers dropping 30 while teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1537996' first='Tyler' last='Swierczek'] had 21 points. For Yorkville [player_tooltip player_id='1285496' first='Jason' last='Jakstys'] recorded his second straight double double going for 19 points and 11 rebounds.
