Continue ReadingGunn is a straight-up difference-maker on the court. Although his stature doesn’t stand out to you his leadership screams at you. He is a guard that impacts the game on both ends of the floor. At one point in the third quarter, the game was close, he got a steal and take it coast to coast to throw a lob for a finish. He understands when to push the ball and when to slow it down. What is great about him is he never picks up his dribble without a sure place to pass the ball.
Highlights
Dixon who is most known for his ability to fill It up from the perimeter had a very minimum number of touches last night. What impressed me the most about him was, he showed his ability to be a playmaker and get his teammates involved. This is a side of his game that he doesn’t get to show as often because he is predominantly used for his shot-making ability. He also showed growth and his ability to get down and commit to playing defense. He had not problems pressuring the ball full court and making it tough on the opposing ball handler. Although he is more known as a combo guard, I like his future as a primary ball handler with his ability to see the floor and make the right play.
Miles Flemmons
Miles Flemmons
Flemmons is a kid that is strong around the rebound. When posting he understands how to direct the guard to swing the basketball so, he has the advantage on a post-up. What impressed me the most is he understands spacing when one of his guards is penetrating and always seems to be in the right place, at the right time to receive a pass to score. Another thing that is good about him is his ability to set great screens to get his teammates open.
Williams came out and knock down two quick threes to get Owasso out to a lead quickly. Even when he missed it seemed like it was going on. After knocking down the first two threes he became an instant threat every time he caught the ball which allowed opportunities for his teammates.
Mann is a very aggressive guard going to the rim. He has no problem finishing over the top of bigger defenders and through smaller ones. During the game, he always crashed the boards and consistently gave his team second chance opportunities. Because of his versatility to play all five positions on both sides of the ball, he makes it hard on any perimeter player and with his strength also makes tough a post player as well. What he has added to his game since the last time I saw him is a present on the block. He also has added his ability to come off screens and make the right decisions.
