December 8th-10th I attended the prestigious Hoophall West located at Chaparral HS in Scottsdale. AZ. Some of the top teams in the West took part along with a few local teams to challenge themselves.

Here were the local senior standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id='831114' first='Cody' last='Williams'] Perry

One of the top players in the state and in his class nationally. He has an easy stroke from well beyond the arc and can rip thru and flush it down. He sees the court like a bigger point forward and he is greatly improving his handle in tight spaces. His range is legit and he times his passes like you should.

[player_tooltip player_id='831117' first='Arman' last='Madi'] Bropy Prep

A strong wing forward who committed to NAU had a very good weekend. He can rattle off catch triples with range and fills it up from all levels. He is a fantastic passer which will come in handy in college. He has good strength to get inside to handle the bump to score or get to the free throw line. He was getting to his spots all weekend long and carried them during deep stretches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1695084' first='Sean' last='Akin'] Chaparral (Pictured)

A breakout candidate for the Firebirds is their senior two sport star. He already holds offers for volleyball but is very good at basketball too. He is face-up four-man who can rattle off three point shots and hit from mid-range. He rebounds well with a little bounce and a stronger upper body.

[player_tooltip player_id='937194' first='Conner' last='Ivy'] Brophy Prep

A long 3 and D type of forward. He rebounds the ball at a good rate and defends multiple positions and he is surprisingly a good passer. He uses his length to grab difficult rebounds out of his area and he is the glue guy for the team. He just received his first offer from Embry-Riddle.

[player_tooltip player_id='937197' first='Jordan' last='Jones'] Ironwood

A strong scoring guard can catch and shoot from the three point line. He is tough to get into the paint to score and he plays physical on-ball defense. He brings leadership and shot making ability to the Eagles. He is one of the better 6th men in the AIA.

[player_tooltip player_id='936905' first='Julius' last='Williams'] Ironwood

One of the stronger power forwards in the AIA. He carves out space inside and grabs rebounds in his area and can score around the basket. What is standing out recently is his passing ability is improving over the last couple of years.

[player_tooltip player_id='814513' first='Ben' last='Egbo'] Perry

A long wing defends the best player on every team. He has length, good lateral quickness and open court speed. He will play above the rim and hit the catch three. He can project out to be a 3 and D down the road.
