1.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='1367435' first='Oakley' last='Semelroth'] (Tripoli) - 18.5 rebounds per game

A 6-2 power forward with excellent hands and a big, physical frame that he uses to control the painted area, Semelroth leads the state in rebounds by a wide margin, corralling a total of 148 rebounds through the Panthers first eight games. He pulled down a season-high 24 rebounds in a win over Don Bosco back on December 9.

2.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='956883' first='Mason' last='Harter'] (Wapsie Valley) - 16.6

Another player who pulled down 24 rebounds in a single game, Harter's huge night came against AGWSR on December 13th, in a game in which he also dropped 36 points. A mobile 6-4 big man who can protect the rim, control the glass, and finish effectively around the bucket, Harter has enjoyed being the focal point of the Warriors' offensive attack this season, averaging 20.2 points and leading the Warriors to a 6-1 start.

3.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='1367439' first='Landon' last='Blatchford'] (West Monona) - 14.2

One of the most versatile players in 1A basketball, Blatchford is a 6-4 combo forward who can score inside and out efficiently, dominate the glass on both ends of the floor, and defend multiple positions. He has been a dominant two-way force for the Spartans, averaging 24.8 points, 1.5 steals, and 1.2 blocks a game with 52-41-78 shooting splits in addition to his control of the glass.

4.) 2023 Sam Fehr (West Bend-Mallard) - 14.0

Fehr is your typical small-school power forward who controls the glass in a major way. He's 6-3, powerful, and has soft hands that he uses to dominate as a rebounder. He's pulling down 7.4 offensive rebounds a game, which is helping a Wolverines' team that doesn't shoot it well from the arc, gaining some valuable extra possessions.

5.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='1167703' first='Sage' last='Evans'] (West Harrison) - 13.8

Over the last few years, Evans has become one of my favorite players to watch because of how unique he is. A 6-2 power guard who looks like a defensive end, he's averaging 11.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.6 steals to go with his massive rebounding numbers. He uses his physicality to his advantage and plays with a non-stop motor, outhustling opponents to rebounds.

6.) 2023 Caleb Hubbard (Diagonal) - 13.5

The senior forward is the other player who pulled down 24 rebounds in a game this season, with his huge total coming in a win over Lamoni on December 16. Hubbard leads the Maroons in every major statistical category, showing his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.

7.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='1587384' first='Jackson' last='Newell'] (Madrid) - 13.1

A long, lanky 6-7 forward, Newell has established himself as one of the best rim protectors in the state, blocking 6.7 shots a game in addition to his domination on the glass. He's averaging more rebounds than points (10.0) this season for the Tigers, giving a smaller, guard-oriented team some needed size and rebounding.

8.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='956891' first='Douglas' last='Taylor'] (Newman Catholic) - 12.9

Taylor has been one of the best 1A players in the state since he was a freshman, and he's going out in a big way for the Knights, averaging 25.3 points and 12.9 rebounds a game. An athletic 6-5 wing who will play college baseball at Iowa, he uses his athleticism and length to control the glass on both ends of the floor for the 7-0 Knights.

9.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id='956875' first='Daniel' last='Tobiloba'] (Grand View Christian) - 12.7

A Kennesaw State commit, the 7-0 Tobiloba is one of the biggest game-changers in the state, regardless of class. With his overwhelming size and athleticism, he completely alters the way that opposing teams can attack the Thunder.

10.) 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1376715' first='Drew' last='Denekas'] (George-Little Rock) - 12.7

A 6-3 power forward who leads the Mustangs in both scoring (13.6) and rebounding, Denekas is the focal point of a young GLR team that is off to a strong start and looking to build momentum heading into next year, where they could be one of the best teams in 1A.
