CNHY Showcase: Final Thoughts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The CNHY Showcase was quite a success once again this year by the folks at Cardinal Newman. What were some of our final thoughts on the last day. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Youngsters to Follow:</em></strong> </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1486213' first='Bryan' last='Brown Jr']</strong> and<strong> [player_tooltip player_id='1679970' first='Yale' last='Davis']</strong> both in the freshmen class here in the Palmetto State. These two youngsters both play a great deal of minutes for their respective teams. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brown nicknamed "BJ" plays for his father on this Sumter HS Gamecocks roster. He really likes to go to work from the corners and knockdown the 3-ball. BJ plays very mature for his age on the floor. The kid has ice in his veins at times and wants to have the ball in his hands during crunch time. Haliburton was all over the glass on both ends of the court. Damarcus defended really well out on the perimeter. He's an extremely quick leaper off the floor that helps alter and challenge shots from time to time. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Players Not in Attendance: </em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1463715' first='Cedric' last='Schofield']</strong> (2025) will be a great addition to the Eau Claire HS Shamrocks roster when he becomes eligible in a few weeks. He was taking the SAT Test before arriving for the 2nd half on Saturday. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>The Green Wave are Coming Fast: </em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Summerville HS is going to play fast all year long. The Green Wave came out firing this weekend. Summerville played 5 and subbed 5 about every 3 minutes. Teams be aware have your track shoes ready to play the Green Wave this season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Headed Out West: </em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gray Collegiate will head off to Phoenix, AZ for games this Thursday and Friday at the Hoop Hall West. The War Eagles will play Phoenix St Mary's on Thursday evening and Milton HS (GA) on Friday afternoon. All games will be played at Chaparral HS in Scottsdale. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
