The 6'2” guard truly did it all and led the way in just about every category of the game. In the first half, he knocked down a deep pull-up three-pointer and sank an off-balance fading mid-range jumper. In the second half, he got to the basket more, drawing fouls and absorbing contact for some stellar finishes. Asuma also came away with a couple steals and picked up several blocks on the defensive end, as well as hitting his teammates with some needle-threading passes for some assists. He continues to impress me more and more. u003c/spanu003e","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-639a39af3fcb0"} /-->

The majority of his points came from beyond the arc, connecting with 6 six three-pointers. He is such a tough player to guard, as he has one of the quickest jump shots I have seen and will pull-up when the defense is least suspecting. Also, the difficulty of some of the shots he made were incredible and were almost impossible to contest. Hanson looks to be fitting into this Holy Family team perfectly and plays with a passion on both ends of the floor that can be game changing. u003c/spanu003e","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-639a39af3fd33"} /-->

He ended up knocking down 6 three-pointers, accounting for 18 of his 20 points. The Southwest Minnesota commit has a smooth release and it is difficult to get a good contest on him because he is 6'7”. He also made his presence felt inside defensively, as he can move very well for his size. Despite the 0-2 start, I believe Stevens and PEM are still state contenders and will heat up as we get deeper into the season when they are at full strength. u003c/spanu003e","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-639a39af3fda2"} /-->

The senior guard started off hot in the matchup with Cherry, as he connected with 3 three-pointers in the first couple of possessions. He can create shots for himself, as well as being comfortable getting shots off quick in the catch-and-shoot. Matti also served as the teams main ball handler and facilitator where he always looked composed, never panicking when pressure was applied. Hayfield is looking for their third straight state title this season and Isaac will be relied upon to lead this Viking squad. u003c/spanu003e","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-639a39af3fe0d"} /-->

It is so hard to believe that he is only a freshman, as he has many skills well beyond his years. He is a very confident shooter and sank several three-pointers throughout the contest. He was also a factor without the ball, as he had some great cuts towards the basket to put himself in a fantastic position for a teammate's pass. He had some impressive passes of his own as well, one being a no-look pass to his cutting brother Isaac for an easy basket. Cherry is now ranked as the #1 team in class A and will be in the metro area again this Friday as they take on Minnehaha. u003c/spanu003e","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-639a39af3fe61"} /-->

It was close, and they were in that position with a huge second half from Max. He scored from all three levels, attacking the basket with a full head of steam, getting to his spots in the mid-range, being able to knock down tough off-balance looks, sometimes with a hand in his face. He also showed off his range, connecting with a deep three-pointer in the final seconds to give his team a chance at the win. Wilson will be looked at to be the lead scorer for this Polar roster that has loads of potential. u003c/spanu003e","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-639a39af3fedf"} /-->

The sophomore guard was responsible for 14 points, scoring the ball from both outside and inside. He was efficient shooting the ball, only taking high percentage looks from the field. These included open three-pointers in the half court and in transition, as well as layups around the basket, either creating the shot for himself or positioning himself in a great spot for a pass from a teammate. Cherry looks like the team to beat in class A, as they play very unselfish basketball and are able to rely on many different players to score the ball. u003c/spanu003e","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-639a39af3ff34"} /-->
