Five games featuring teams from the Southwest Florida area will take on programs from other parts of the state. We will break down each game and provide a prediction at the end. Prep Hoops scouts will be on hand to cover the event.
Game #1: Calvary Christian (Clearwater) vs Charlotte (Punta Gorda)- Saturday at 12:00pm: You can make an argument that this could be the best game of the event when you look at the talent on display. Calvary Christian (3-0) is led by 6’0 junior point guard Daniel MacGregor Daniel MacGregor 5'11" | PG Clearwater Calvary Christian | 2024 State FL who is one of the best perimeter shooters you may find this weekend. Charlotte is led by 6’5 junior small forward Chris Cornish who has been averaging a double-double in the first two games of the season for the Tarpons. Another name to keep an eye on will be 6’7 senior forward John Gamble John Gamble 6'6" Charlotte | 2023 FL who put up 21 points and 8 rebounds in the season-opener against Cardinal Mooney. Prediction: Calvary Christian
Game #2: Victory Christian Academy (Lakeland) vs Mariner (Naples)- Saturday at 1:40pm: Victory Christian has one of the most dangerous backcourts in the shootout featuring 6’2 junior point guard Lorenzo Cason Lorenzo Cason 6'2" | PG Victory Christian | 2024 State #75 Nation FL and 6’0 junior guard Mike Andino Mike Andino 6'0" | PG Victory Christian Academy | 2024 State FL . The Mariner Tritons have gotten off to a slow start (0-4) to begin the season, but have no easy test with the Storm standing in their way tomorrow. Keep an eye on the backcourt for Mariner featuring 6’1 sophomore guard Roanin Solis and 6’2 junior guard Kelvin Jimenez Kelvin Jimenez 6'1" | PG Mariner | 2024 State FL . Prediction: Victory Christian Academy
Game #3: Cardinal Mooney (Sarasota) vs Community School of Naples- Saturday at 3:20pm: The Cardinal Mooney Cougars (1-1) have split their first two games this season coming off a 67-54 win over Manatee in their last game. Keep an eye on 6’3 junior combo guard Connor Heald in this one as he’s been leading the team in scoring each of the first two games. The Community School of Naples Seahawks (4-0) will likely apply a ton of pressure on the defensive end, as they’ve allowed just 49.7 points per game through their first four games this season. Keep an eye on 6’2 senior point guard Jackson McAdams Jackson McAdams 6'4" | CG Naples | 2023 State FL for the Seahawks as he’s averaging near 20 points per game so far this season. Prediction: Community School of Naples
Game #4: Canterbury (St. Petersburg) vs Canterbury (Fort Myers)- Saturday at 5:00pm: The Cougars are still in search of their first win of the season as they have been led by their underclassmen frontcourt with 6’5 freshman small forward Brisun Hammermeister Brisun Hammermeister 6'7" | SG The Villages | 2026 State FL and 6’7 sophomore power forward Jerry Ashley Jerry Ashley 6'7" | PF Bishop Verot | 2025 State FL . Another name to keep an eye on will be 6’1 junior combo guard Leroy Roker Leroy Roker 6'0" | PG Fort Myers Canterbury | 2024 FL , who is averaging 11.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game so far this season. The Crusaders have been led by 6’4 junior point guard Jordan Naylor who had a 37 point, 13 rebound performance in their season-opening win over Keswick Christian back on November 28. Prediction: Canterbury (St. Petersburg)
Game #5: Bradenton Christian vs Evangelical Christian- Saturday at 6:40pm: The final Boys game of the day will feature a great point guard matchup between 6’0 junior point guard Jaden Baker Jaden Baker 6'0" | CG Bradenton Christian | 2024 State FL from Bradenton Christian and 6’2 junior point guard TJ Ehindero from Evangelical Christian. Another name to keep an eye on for the Sentinels will be 5’9 freshman combo guard Ashton Peterson Ashton Peterson 6'0" | PG Estero | 2026 FL who scored a game-high 19 points in their 68-58 season-opening loss to St. John Neumann. Prediction: Bradenton Christian
