Here, I wanted to take a closer look at the top 10 and see which of these players could jump higher and who could have big seasons for their team.
I absolutely love watching Davis play. He gets better each time I see him and he’s showing it on the court too. He’s been a HUGE spark to this Anacortes team this season, a team who I think could be a sneaky team to watch within the NWC and even the 2A classification. Davis is long, athletic, and brings great energy. He’s dunked on a couple people so far and has had consistent 20 point games. I wouldn’t doubt that he will have 30 in a game multiple times.
Juju might have the highest ceiling in the entire class. He’s already standing at 6’8″ and has shown abilities to have Division 1 talent. Juju plays alongside his brother, giving North Central a “Twin-Towers” look with the two down low. He’s got a very high basketball IQ, has a high motor, and wants to do whatever it takes to improve. He’s a player I’ll be keeping an eye on closely throughout the years.
Beckett is just a lights out shooter. I’ve said this recently in an article but, Beckett might just be one of the best shooters in the entire state. He shoots the deep ball EXTREMELY effective all while making 5-6 three pointers a game on average to start off his sophomore year. He even had a game with 10+ made and I truly don’t think it will be his last time doing that this year.
Lucas is a sophomore who I think will get a good amount of playing time on the court. He has earned it too, showing a lot of improvement over the summer while playing AAU. He’s a very patient and attacking type of guard who knows how to use his size. His strength to convert at the rim is a lot better than most in his class. He has a good handle to get to the open driving lanes . When he gets there, he finishes well through traffic, going straight at defenders with no mercy.
