Davion Hannah Davion Hannah 6'5" | SF Nicolet | 2025 State #33 Nation WI (Nicolet) vs Will Starks Will Starks 6'4" | SF Kenosha Tremper | 2023 State WI (Kenosha Tremper)
Nicolet makes the trip south to Kenosha Tremper for an exciting matchup of wing prospects. Davion Hannah Davion Hannah 6'5" | SF Nicolet | 2025 State #33 Nation WI is already making a name for himself on the national level, and put in some extremely impressive showings with Nicolet in fall league. He’s one of the best shot blockers in the state with incredible versatility on the defensive end. Offensively he’s an above the rim finisher, can create off the dribble, and has a nice pull-up jumper. Looking to build upon a freshman season that saw him score 13.6 ppg. Will Starks Will Starks 6'4" | SF Kenosha Tremper | 2023 State WI is a high energy senior who got his season started with a 22 point showing on Saturday. He has a motor that never stops and it allows him to dominate on the glass on both ends of the floor. Starks rarely misses in the paint and defensively is someone who can irritate an opposing team’s top player.
Liam Lubkeman (Westosha Central) vs David Ackles (Whitefish Bay)
Head just to the west of Kenosha and you’ll find an intriguing post matchup taking place. Lubkeman played at the JV level as a freshman and should step into a solid role on the varsity squad as a sophomore. At 6’8 he offers plenty of size and already has some solid footwork on the block. Combine that with soft touch around the rim and he’s an emerging low-post talent in Wisconsin’s 2025 class. David has started to emerge over the past year and recently committed to the University of Rochester. At 6’10 he has plenty of length but has solid mobility at his size that makes him a difficult matchup. He’s a shot blocking threat who will get a hand on one or two shots each game but will also alter a handful more. Looking to build upon a 6.7 ppg and 5 rpg junior season.
Reid Tengblad Reid Tengblad 6'6" | PF Holmen | 2023 State WI and Drew Tengblad Drew Tengblad 6'7" Holmen | 2023 WI (Holmen) vs Peter Lattos Peter Lattos 6'5" | SF West Salem | 2023 State WI (West Salem)
Not sure which of the Tengblad brothers will get the assignment, but this should be a quality matchup of strong and skilled forwards. The Tengblads both come in at around 6’6 with strong frames that allow them to compete against taller competition in the paint. In Holmen’s season opener the two combined for 31 points and 12 rebounds to give Holmen some quality post production. Peter Lattos Peter Lattos 6'5" | SF West Salem | 2023 State WI comes in at 6’7 with strength and skill. His ability to knock down threes helps stretch the floor, but he can also handle it a bit, run the floor in transition, and mix it up on the block. His versatility makes him a difficult matchup for opposing bigs.
Tim Franks Tim Franks 6'5" | SG Homestead | 2024 State WI (Homestead) vs Kon II Knueppel Kon II Knueppel 6'6" | SG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2024 State #15 Nation WI (Wisconsin Lutheran)
Two of the best shooters in the state, as well as two of the best overall players in Wisconsin’s 2024 class face off in a loaded non-conference matchup. Tim Franks Tim Franks 6'5" | SG Homestead | 2024 State WI kicks off his junior season after averaging an impressive 19.3 ppg on 49% shooting from deep. At 6’5 he has good positional size, and is the type of player that never gets sped up. He’ll remain patient throughout the game and pick the perfect opportunities to strike. Kon is now listed at 6’6 and got his season started with an efficient 18 points against a loaded Moline team from Illinois. Like Tim he’s a knockdown shooter from outside, and you’ll rarely see him force his game offensively. He can hurt you in so many ways as a shooter, passer, and even a post scorer. Kon looked more aggressive attacking off the dribble during some fall scrimmages, and should be in for a big junior season.
Brock Massey Brock Massey 6'4" | SG Mauston | 2024 State WI (Mauston) vs Cody Schmitz Cody Schmitz 6'4" | SG Gale Ettrick-Trempeleau | 2024 State WI (G-E-T)
This matchup pits two high scoring junior wings against each other. Brock has gotten his year started off with a bang, averaging 26.5 points through two games, while also dishing out 9 assists against Westby. The ball will be in his hands a lot as the 6’4 wing can run the offense for his team but is also a threat from beyond the arc. He loves to get up and force turnovers with his ball pressure and ability to jump passing lanes. Once out in the open floor Brock is a calm and composed finisher at the rim. Cody put up a ridiculous 30 ppg as a sophomore, and started off his junior year with 30 points while sitting most of the second half in a blowout win. Schmitz has a dangerous mid-range jumper, with the frame to take the ball to the rim and finish through contact. Not many players in the state can put up the scoring numbers he can, as once he sees a few shots go in early Cody has the ability to put up 40+ points on a team.
