TAAC Preview

The TAAC is not known in the Toledo area as a juggernaut of a conference but within recent years that narrative has been rewritten a bit. I think they are the second-best conference in the area talent-wise. In this article, I will predict how the season will shape these teams.    <ol> <li>Emmanuel Christian - Last Year: 14-6 (7-4) - 2022-23 Prediction: 17-2* (10-0)</li> </ol>   <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/09/Jerrry-Easter-TT64.jpg"><img src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/09/Jerrry-Easter-TT64-1024x873.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1606989" width="271" height="231"/></a></figure>    [player_tooltip player_id='1432014' first='Jerry' last='Easter II'] plays for Emmanuel Christian. That is enough for a lot. Easter is the first thing you think about when it comes to the Warriors but I love this team's role players. They have a dominant big in [player_tooltip player_id='1467905' first='Jamie' last='Rivers Jr'], a sharpshooter with [player_tooltip player_id='1290033' first='Jalen' last='C Brown'], athletic and defensive freak [player_tooltip player_id='1605228' first='Tylin' last='Patterson'], and incoming freshman buckets getter Nate Miles. This team is loaded. I think they have some scare on the road in conference games but besides that, they will be very dominant this year. They play Lutheran East earlier in the year also Dublin Jerome later on and I love this experience. Easter is one of the best players, if not the best, players in the city and it isn't for no reason. The kid is special. I am excited to see the leader he is turning into for this team this year.    2. Maumee Valley Country Day - Last year: 11-12 (3-7) - 2022-2023 Prediction: 15-4* (7-3)   <figure class="wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized"><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/10/CJ-Majors-Expo-scaled.jpg"><img src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2022/10/CJ-Majors-Expo-1024x847.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1619400" width="249" height="206"/></a></figure>   I am a big fan of Maumee Valley's guard/wing talent. [player_tooltip player_id='1617828' first='Christian' last='Majors'], [player_tooltip player_id='1605224' first='Amani' last='Dickerson'], and KD Parcher. All three of them bring different things to the table and I think if they all do their skills at a high level this team will be very nice. This team likes to play fast and sped teams up. Good transition team and play a lot of half and full-court zone. This causes many turnovers and helps them get a lot of easy buckets. This is where those three players can excel. Majors and Dickerson have very long wingspans and Parcher is very athletic. Their half-court offense will go as Dickerson and Majors go and they both have similar skill sets. I like this Maumee Valley team.    3. Cardinal Stritch - Last Year: 18-8 (7-3) - 2022-23 Prediction: 15-7 (6-4)   <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/10/Tommy-Taylor-e1633547312645.jpg"><img src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/10/Tommy-Taylor-e1633547312645-1024x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1303156" width="213" height="213"/></a></figure>   Similar to Maumee Valley Stritch has another big three I am a fan of. Kam Hughes, [player_tooltip player_id='1605209' first='Tommie' last='Taylor'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1605202' first='Breon' last='Hicks']. They have more versatility than Maumee Valley's big three though. Hughes is a very strong and stout forward who will bring physicality and toughness to their squad. Taylor will be the team's point guard. He does a good job of running the show like a point guard but also putting the ball in the basket. Good jumper. [player_tooltip player_id='1605202' first='Breon' last='Hicks'] picked up some offers and interest over the summer and his ceiling is very high. He is a 6'3 guard who is super athletic. Long wingspan with spring bounce.    4. Toledo Christian - Last Year: 12-11 (5-5) - 2022-23 Prediction: 12-10 (5-5)   I think Toledo Christian will have a very similar year to last year. Just like Stritch and Maumee Valley Toledo Christian also has a nice big three. Karter Koester is a tough, competitive, and leader of point guard Makes the right plays and can shoot the ball well. [player_tooltip player_id='1450352' first='Conye' last='Gaston'] is a strong and athletic wing who flies around. He is a slasher and is someone you don't want to get in front of when he is on his way to the rim. Good bounce and athlete. [player_tooltip player_id='1225073' first='Xandyr' last='Hesson'] impressed me the last time I saw him play. He is a nice athlete and moves well. Plays extremely hard. He will be big in matchups against teams like Emmanuel Christian, Maumee Valley, and Cardinal Stritch.   5. Ottawa Hills - Last Year: 14-7 (8-3) - 2022-23 Prediction: 7-14 (2-8)   6. Northwood - Last Year: 3-17 (1-9) - 2022-23 Prediction: 5-17 (0-10)   *The team is going to a holiday tournament and/or all the teams they play are not on their schedule yet.
