Following a 16-10 year and league best 9-1 record, Mesa Ridge will boast a talented back court who has room to grow throughout the season. Bringing on two top-20 prospects from the 2024 class, this group is likely to make waves down in the Springs. Featuring a group loaded with backcourt shooting, Mesa Ridge will be a funky matchup for teams, attempting a staggering 658 three pointers last season.

Notable Contributors

[player_tooltip player_id='1318379' first='Tevin' last='Riehl'] - Combo Guard

Riehl has repeatedly proven himself as one of the top marksmen within the state's hoops scene. Although only standing roughly 5'11, there are few guards who can match Riehl's efficiency for the volume, knocking down 45% of his 140 three point attempts. Riehl is so efficient due to the combination of quick foot speed while relocating for shots and absurd upper body contortion on attempts. Throughout the guard's sophomore season, her made 3+ three pointers on ten seperate occassions. Riehl has showcased incredibly tough shotmaking, notably making pull up jumpers well beyond the arc. This past season at Mesa Ridge, Riehl averaged 15 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1318392' first='Tanner' last='Widic'] - Point Guard

Widic brings pure physicality at the lead guard spot, while boasting upside as a shooter and playmaker. The incoming junior has been a steady contributor for Mesa Ridge, averaging 9.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game while contributing nearly 44% of his three point attempts. The lead guard is capable bullying his way to the rim, where he can leverage that space to find perimeter shooters. Widic could be a versatile defender given his positional strength, potentially being a capable defender in the post versus a range of forwards.

[player_tooltip player_id='1285223' first='Terrell' last='Moorer Jr'] - Guard

The guard has the ball on a string going either direction, likely adding a bit of juice off the dribble to a methodical team. The lead guard put up 13.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2 steals per game while attempting 101 of the team's 423 free throws. With a group full of excellent spot up shooters, Moorer will have ample opportunities to be a high volume playmaker. While there will likely be plenty of three guard lineups, Moorer will benefit from this group's excellent spacing. Featuring three key guards who shot 40% or better from beyond the arc, Moorer will have plenty of space to create inside the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id='1369853' first='Bryce' last='Riehl'] - Shooting Guard

[player_tooltip player_id='1369853' first='Bryce' last='Riehl'] immediately demonstrated elite efficiency from the floor within a low usage role. Now a sophomore guard, Riehl had himself an excellent freshman season, posting 6.5 points while contributing 43% of his three point attempts. On five seperate occassions, Riehl posted 3+ made threes. The guard should be primed for an expanded role this year, given his clear efficiency as a freshman.

Cyprus Woodley - Wing

Woodley is a 6'3 wing who brings size as a help defender while helping space the floor on the opposite end. The incoming senior will play a valuable role providing size and strength to backcourt dominant group.
