Markus Robinson Markus Robinson 6'2" | SG Veritas | 2024 State VA | 6’4” WG | Blue Ridge
Robinson is one of the most prolific scorers in the state and has over 3,000 career points since he’s been playing high school ball since seventh grade in upstate NY, but it will be interesting to see how he fits in with the Blue Ridge style. He’s a capable shot maker with great balance when he gets to spots, he can make shots from all over the floor and he rarely takes bad shots or rushes things.
Shanon Simango Shanon Simango 6'6" | PF Blue Ridge | 2024 State #301 Nation VA | 6’7” PF | Blue Ridge
Simango was probably the first left off for me in the All State junior team, as he’s stepping into a bigger role this year and while I expect him to be very productive I do think he’ll have some adjustments to make. He’s a work horse who runs the floor hard and crashes the glass, he finishes through contact and brings it on both ends and he’s completely capable of averaging a double-double.
Paul Jones Paul Jones 6'4" | CG Combine Academy | 2024 State NC | 6’3” CG | Churchland
I expect Jones to have a big breakout season this year for Churchland, the main reason he was left off is whether or not Churchland can compete and make a run this year. The 6’3” combo guard is super bouncy and plays above the rim, he’s capable of creating space and making shots from deep and from the midrange and he plays with good pace and knows how to get to spots.
Ben Nacey Ben Nacey 6'9" | PF Cox | 2024 State VA | 6’8” C | Cox
Nacey will have a shot at Beach District Player of the Year this season as he’s a super productive big man, but will the Falcons have enough to make a run for a Beach District Championship? He’s a throw back style big who seals in the post and finishes with both hands, he rebounds well on both ends of the floor and there aren’t going to be many bigs in the Beach to guard him.
Danzelle Coles Danzelle Coles 6'5" | SG St Anne Belefield | 2025 State VA | 6’3” CG | Highland Springs
Coles was a big reason for Springs run to the state championship last season, and he’ll have the ball in his hands and will have to produce even more if they’re going to make another postseason run. He’s a naturally gifted guard who can play on or off the ball, he gets hot quickly and can hit shots from deep in succession and he has a quick first step and the ability to get to the rim.
Dominique Bailey Dominique Bailey 6'2" | SG John Marshall | 2024 State VA | 6’2” WG | John Marshall
Bailey is on a JM team that should make a run to the state championship again this year, and while he won’t be their leading scorer he makes a huge impact for his team on both ends of the floor. He’s one of the top defenders in the state and guards the other team’s best player, he’s improved in his ability to catch and shoot and he makes winning plays on both ends of the floor.
Owen Gray Owen Gray 6'10" | C Steward | 2024 State VA | 6’9” C | Steward School
Gray reclassified to the 2024 class and his Steward School team should make a run this year, especially if he can step up and produce consistently. He has great physical and athletic tools and he can run the floor and play above the rim, he has good touch out to 20 feet and he can protect the rim as well.
