I went into the summer thinking that Mobley only had one signature skill. He rose because he showed that he had others. He’s a modern PG, with the wiggle and shake that remind scouts and coaches of Trae Young.

Nance has always been a player that can play and now other coaches are starting to take notice. The lefty is a scoring PG, that improved his overall playmaking ability this summer. He has the shiftyness, handle and shooting ability to put up big numbers against 5A competition this year.

Lemke moved up becasue of the consistency of his signature skill. He’s as traditional of a stretch 4 as a stretch 4 can be. Throughout several contest this summer, I saw him effect games from the start with his ability to hit catch and shoot threes. I’ve seen some flashes of him adding other parts, including a one leg mid range fadeaway, he’ll have to become consistent with those aspects, if he wants to continue to rise.

Any player looking to jump Burrell in the rankings, needs to play with the same energy as he does. A max effort guy, Burrell’s rise is tied to the increased ball skills he showed during the summer. He has the ability to be one of the best power guards in the city, and I envision him punishing opponents with downhll drives, while cutting them up with on time and on target dimes.

Taylor is a player that I will be evaluating even more during the winter months. He has played well, everytime I’ve had an opportunity to watch him, including most recently at the PrepHoops Expo. He’s a tough two way player, that has shown an improved abilty to handle, and score.
22 ↑ 17
Whittle is going to be a problem this year. He’s improved at everything, including his evolving back to the basket game. If you’re going to be a below the rim big, you better be skilled, and he is. Whittle has good touch around the rim with his strong hand. A big part of his rise was the ability he showed to put together combination post moves, using drop steps, up and unders, and step throughs effectively.
37 ↑ 21
Rymes is a player with a lot of physical tools. He’s a smooth scorer that can create a shot for himself. He’s been a JV player for Gorman for the first two season, and should get an opportunity this season for the powerhouse program.

Aquiningoc is small, but productive. He rise’s because I like walking into the gym and easily being able to identify the best player on the floor, and I saw Aquiningoc do this several times this summer, despite being the smallest player on the floor. Shooting, ballhandling and playmaking are all strengths of his, and I have a gut feeling he’s about to have a big statistical season at Faith.

Reid’s rise has a lot to do with his frame. He’s a physical specimen, that has caught the eye of coaches at even the D1 level. His offensive game is improving and that’s why I believe he’s deserving of rising. Reid showed a consistent ability to score the ball off putbacks, and use a nice soft strong hand jump hook to get buckets.

In a recent interview with Liberty PG DJ Thomas DJ Thomas 6’2″ | PG Liberty | 2024 #19 Nation NV , he mentioned Porter as the strongest player on the team. Porter’s strength has always been a given, however the two sport star has risen in the rankings thanks to his improved athleticism, and offensive skill set.

Only saw Baltierrez once this summer but it was enough to confim to me what I thought he would be able to do. He’s a card carrying member of my all Irrational confidence team, but his scoing ability is completley sane. He put up over 13 per game in his sophomore season, and should be counted on to carry the load again.
43 ↑ 41
The Sharpshooter from Reno rises in large part thanks to his shooting ability. Coulter proved to be one of the best catch and shoot guys in 5A last year, and even flashed some transition scoring ability. He’s a player that I will target to see more of during the high school season.
46 ↑ 43
Cousins is a player that could continue to make a move. A big part of his rise was just providing the ability to show a signature skill. He can defend multiple positions, and is active enough to start and finish transition plays. He’ll play in several big matchups throughout the high school season, that should give him an opportunity to showcase his talents more.
