The most impressive performance I witnessed on Saturday came from O’Brien Watkins O’Brien Watkins 6’2″ | PG Carrollton | 2024 State GA . In a 94-85 win, Watkins delivered 27 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. His athleticism and aggressive mindset put him in positions to take over. He is a tenacious defender that picks up full court. Offensively, he uses his strength to power his way to the rim, but also mixed in a handful of threes. His ability to control games makes him a certified GameChanger.
I loved what I saw from Escher, who is in line for a strong season at St. Francis. He’s such a smooth ball handler. Reynolds combats pressure with creativity. Once he gets a step on his man, he’s adept at getting to the rim, using a strong gather to ensure he won’t get stripped on his way up. What stood out most was Escher’s court vision. He’s a great facilitator that delivers on the money bounce passes and bombs accurate outlet leads to teammates streaking down the floor.
Bullock caught fire vs. Team 12, stroking threes off the dribble in crunch time. In total, he nailed five long balls and finished with 23 points. Listed at 6-foot-1, Bullock feels much taller with his wingspan. His crossover is a real weapon, a sharp one that catches defenders off balance and allows Bullock to rise and fire for clean looks. Bullock will be a GameChanger at North Paulding and will have plenty of opportunities to score the ball.
Highlights
At 7-foot, McVey did everything you could ask for out of a young big man. He finished with dunks, rebounded exceptionally well and blocked shots without fouling. Jackson has a good motor. He’s an active offensive rebounder that doesn’t take any plays off, constantly keeping the pressure on opponents to try and block him out. McVey has a soft touch around the rim. Jackson seems to be trending into becoming a D-I recruit.

The highlight machine thrived in transition catching lobs. Carter is a bouncy athlete that can do more than just dunk. He’s a dangerous three-point shooter and an impactful rebounder and defender. Carter has all the tools to play at the D-I level. The GameChanger scored 19 points on six dunks.

Things are clicking for Cam Catholic. The skilled wing scores on the perimeter in a variety of ways. He shoots the ball well for a big wing and has the athleticism to get downhill for dunks. Catholic has a well-balanced floor game, posting 21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. He’s a player that the rest of the state should be talking more about. Catholic is a GameChanger.
