The sophomore class of NJ is also showing itself to be a deep one. Many have already made names for themselves with big freshman seasons. Others, such as the players below, should be set to see their stock rise as sophomores before being true leaders their final two seasons.

Timothy Christian consistently produces college talent and Fleming will be the next in line. A well rounded guard who can attack the rim off the dribble. He's likely to grow into a bit of a wing at the HS level but would be more of a backcourt recruit for colleges. He hit nearly 400 pts as a freshman, including 33 vs Bound Brook, which shows his potential.

Grospe broke in as a freshman for a very talented Rams team. He's a shifty guard with a high workrate who gets at it on defense and fits well in South River's high octane offense. He had 17 vs Roselle. He'll have another learning season this year, specifically spelling time for his brother Jeremy, before leading the program after the bumper crop of 2023's graduate.

[player_tooltip player_id='1413226' first='Nahsirr' last='Hart'] | 6'7 | F |St. Thomas Aquinas2025

Hart is a long forward who ‘s shown some skillset on the low block and can get the job done with his footwork around the rim. A tough rebounder who will be part of a loaded Trojans team after coming over from Keyport High. He contributed as a freshman but the senior heavy lineup shouldered the load at the Bayshore. He'll have a role this year before leading the next two seasons.

A talented young prospect for the Crusaders in their absolutely slammed frontcourt. He's got a solid offensive skillset and is a tough rebounder. He'll also be in a learning season before being part of a young crop expected to do big things the next few seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411622' first='Mekhi' last='Ragland'] | 6'6′ | F | Hudson Catholic 2025

After a good freshman year at DePaul, Ragland has come over to Jersey City. He's a strong post player who will team up with senior [player_tooltip player_id='1013064' first='Ted' last='Gregoire'] for Hudson Catholic this winter, giving the Hawks the frontcourt presence they desperately needed. He enjoys banging in the post and has a soft touch around the rim. He's going to be a dominant low-block guy as he develops. He had double-doubles vs Hackensack(13&14) and St Joes(16&12) as his top freshman year performances. D1 prospect.
