Continue ReadingDawes first got onto my radar last summer at the Winterset Shootout, and he followed that up with a productive sophomore season for Panorama. A 5-11 combo guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands, he’s constantly in motion, is a solid ball-handler and passer, and a good shooter off the catch.
Wisdom Fode
Wisdom Fode
A quick-twitch 6-1 lead guard, Fode showed a ton of potential on both ends of the floor throughout the afternoon. He changes directions really well without losing any speed, moves his feet extremely well on the defensive end, and has quick hands. He’s able to break down the defense with the dribble, constantly able to put pressure on opposing defenses, and he showed great body control around the rim on finishes.
A big, physical wing who can get to the bucket and finish through contact, Carson put his playmaking on display throughout the afternoon. He’s a really good passer who sees the floor extremely well and is always under control on both ends of the floor. He’s a good on-ball defender who does a great job communicating on that end of the floor.
A 6-0 off-ball guard, Leiss-Demus showed good footwork and touch around the rim on his dribble-drive chances. He’s a solid athlete who contributes on the glass and is a good enough ball-handler and decision-maker to pull down a defensive board and lead the break.
A pure scorer with a quick release, Costello can get scorching hot and carry his team for stretches. He’s oozing with confidence in his ability to score from all three levels, and his ball-handling continues to tighten up, which is just making him more deadly. He has a quick trigger on his jumper and is a good shooter both off the dribble and the catch.
Highlights
Like his older brother, Jaden is a strong all-around player who is going to limit mistakes and contribute across the board. He’s constantly in motion on the offensive end, making his defender work, and it allows him to get easy looks when the defense lags behind for a brief moment. He’s a good on-ball defender who moves his feet and has good length, and he’s a solid playmaker on the offensive end who sees the floor well.
Highlights
Richardson had a breakout afternoon, flashing a ton of potential and ability on both ends of the floor. He has good size and a strong, physical frame that he uses to embrace contact around the bucket and finish through it. He has a ton of confidence in his jumper, and for good reason. The form is pure and he gets good rotation on his shot. He’s a solid rebounder who can handle and push the pace and find open shooters.
A big, physical combo forward, Stensrud had some really strong moments on the defensive end, showing good instincts and timing as a shot blocker. He has great hands and a good frame to continue to add strength to. He establishes good post position and showed good court vision and passing instincts.
A long wing who can shoot it well from the arc, Hood moves without the ball and finds spaces in the defense to get his shot off. He gets great rotation on his jumper and showed that he can handle the ball well enough to get to his own shots on occasion. He’ll provide some versatility on the defensive end and contribute on the glass.
