This event sold out earlier than expected and has a LOT of talent coming through the doors of the Noblesville Boys and Girls Club. There will be a lot of Division II, Division III, NAIA, and Junior College coaches in the gym on Saturday with plenty of players to choose from as they evaluate the best talent our state has to offer. Now, let’s dive on in and highlight six juniors that college programs should keep a close eye on.
Cain is a bigger 6’3” guard with a strong, athletic frame. He played this summer with Grand Park Premier 2024 on the UAA Circuit and showed his ability to score it against some high-level competition. He is a good shooter from beyond the arc, can create his own shot off of the bounce, and uses his physicality to finish through contact at the end of his drives.
Highlights
Don’t worry about his smaller frame. Despite being 5’8″, this point guard from Wabash High School can flat out score the basketball. Daughtry proved that while averaging 16.5 points per game with impressive efficiency numbers as a sophomore and continued it through the summer with Summit City Elite 2024. He’s a great shooter and dynamic off of the bounce.
Competitive, tough, and athletic are certainly three words that can be used to describe this 5’11” guard out of Hamilton Heights. Etchison is excellent at creating for himself off of the dribble with a bunch of combo moves in his repertoire that he uses to create space. He is an efficient mid-range scorer with the ability to put it in the basket from other levels as well. All-around scorer.
There aren’t a ton of prospects in this Class of 2024 with a higher upside than Gatlin. The 6’6″ wing is super long with a lot of versatility on both ends of the floor. Offensively he is at his best when attacking closeouts off the bounce and running the sidelines in transition. Very good when he can drive it to his right to the rim. Love his upside and is definitely one for college coaches to monitor closely.
Fresh off his first scholarship offer from Huntington earlier this week, Metzger will suit up at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo on Saturday. He is one of the very best shooters in the state and should have that skill on full display this weekend. 6’3″ guard is poised for a huge junior season at Fishers after transferring from Marion.
Highlights
This will be a great opportunity for more and more people around the state to get a look at one of the top forwards in Indiana’s Class of 2024. Tornatta is a skilled left-hander that really burst onto the scene this summer with his strong play with Kyle Guy Elite White 2024. Look for him to potentially average a double-double this season at Evansville Memorial.
