Two straight seasons of frustration in the postseason will hopefully be forgotten soon. The conference has struggled with depth as the last 2 years have been very top heavy with this season likely being the same.
Contender
Dayton Christian– The Warriors tied for 1st in the MBC a season ago and had a successful regular season. Now they make the move down to Division IV and will certainly see more success in the lower division. The Warriors do lose their size from a year ago and a 4-year letterman in Devin Dreier. The interior play was an advantage in a guard-heavy conference, but the return of Brady Woodall (Sr) and Jamison Bates (Sr) should provide Dayton Christian with enough firepower to claim an outright title. Woodall is a prototype PG with excellent passing and vision. Bates is a sneaky athlete that sometimes gets forgotten in the conference with Dayton Christian being so small. Winning in Division IV won’t be easy, especially with the SCAL schools, but two ways to win are to have experienced seniors and confident guards, which Dayton Christian has both.
Predicted Finish
- Dayton Christian– Warriors have the senior backcourt that should be very difficult for conference opponents to matchup against
- Legacy Christian– Return their best two in Andrew Riddle (Sr) and Parker Burke (Jr). Might have the best odds to knock off the Warriors at #1.
- Emmanuel Christian– Well coached team but will be without their All-District top player. Byron Lawrence (Sr) will be back and look to fill that void.
- Middletown Christian– Could turn some heads as they have one of the more exciting players in the conference in Jared Rose (Sr). Lack the depth around Rose to separate from the rest of the pack.
- Yellow Springs– Tied for 1st in the MBC, but lose one of the best players to come through the program (Deandre Cowen). Upperclassmen heavy last year but return Eli Eyrich (Sr) in the backcourt.
- Miami Valley School– Only won 2 games last year and not bringing back any major contributors.
- Jefferson Township– Broncos failed to win a game in 2022 after missing 2021 due to COVID. Should be in a better spot this year but still behind the 8 ball.
