1 – Jackson Shelstad Jackson Shelstad 6'0" | PG West Linn | 2023 State #55 Nation OR , West Linn
The overall #1 player in the state – and arguably by far – is there really more to be said? As talented a scorer Shelstad is, he’s an extremely talented playmaker and passer who makes tremendous decisions in transition. With scorers and shooters all around him this year, he could very well pull off a Trae Young-like year and lead 6A in scoring and assists.
3 – Jalen Childs Jalen Childs 6'3" | PG Beaverton | 2023 State OR , Beaverton
Childs has worked hard to combine playmaking along with his explosive scoring ability. The 6-foot-3 guard can really break down defenses with lethal crossover moves and keeps an eye out for shooters out on the perimeter for kickout passes. This will be extra handy at Beaverton as the Beavers are loaded with three-point snipers for Childs to dish out to.
4 – Esyah Pippa-White Esyah Pippa-White 6'2" | PG Gresham | 2023 State OR , Gresham
Pippa-White is one of those players that can seemingly get to the basket whenever he wants and can equally score and get it to teammates for scores. His role should remain the same in this regard for his senior season and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him average in the range of 20 ppg and 7 apg.
8 – Malik Brown Malik Brown 6'0" | PG Tigard | 2023 State OR , Tigard
Brown has settled into being more of the playmaking twin and should once again be the key ball-handler for the Tigers as a senior. As good as he is getting his teammates involved, the 6-foot guard is also a talented scorer and has proven himself as a threat beyond long range. He’s also an energizer bunny on the defensive end.
10 – Josiah Lake Josiah Lake 6'1" | PG Tualatin | 2023 State OR , Tualatin
Lake may actually be sharing point guard duties this year at Tualatin with fellow senior Ryan Schleicher Ryan Schleicher 5'7" | PG Tualatin | 2023 State OR , but there’s no question he’ll have the ball in his hands a lot of the time. The 6-foot-1 guard has risen to the elite after his incredible performances at the state tournament and during summer AAU ball, showing that he’s ready for the quantum leap from supporting cast to leading man.
17 – Sean Chris Tresvant Sean Chris Tresvant 5'11" | PG Cleveland | 2023 State OR , Cleveland
Out of all the guys on this list, Tresvant may be best noted for his ability on the defensive end. There’s seemingly no perimeter player he can’t effectively guard and if the PIL had handed out a Defensive POY, “SC” probably would have rightfully earned the award. Offensively, he’s quick to get to the basket and will have even opportunities to hand out assists this season.
23 – Logan Law Logan Law 5'9" | PG Milwaukie | 2023 State OR , Milwaukie
Law’s collegiate future may be as a runner – he’s getting high-level D-I interest for cross country – but on the court, he’s one of the top PGs not only in 5A but in the state. The 5-foot-9 senior can really light things up from the outside and should rank among 5A’s tops in scoring and assists.
26 – Maxim Wu Maxim Wu 6'0" | PG Wilsonville | 2023 State OR , Wilsonville
Another 5A stalwart, Wu brings plenty of smarts to the point guard position and is a master at setting the pace and making decisions. Defensively the 6-foot senior won’t back down from anyone and while he’s not necessarily a scorer, he can certainly hit shots to keep the defense honest.
