The 5-10 guard led the Cardinals in scoring and assists as a sophomore. He’s a true sharpshooter who shot it better from behind the arc (53.7%) than he did from 2-point range (50.9%). The Cards figure to be one of the most improved teams in 3A, and he’s a major reason why.
2.) 2023 Luke Korver Luke Korver 6'1" | SG MOC-Floyd Valley | 2023 State IA (MOC-Floyd Valley) – 67/132 (50.8%)
It should come as no shock that a Korver is atop a top shooters list. Luke put together a fantastic junior year, showing his ability to shoot it off the dribble or the catch, and like his cousin Kyle, he moves really well off the ball to find open spaces in the defense to get his shot off.
3.) 2023 Madox Doehrmann (Williamsburg) – 32/64 (50.0%)
Doehrmann came off the bench to provide a real spark last year for the Raiders as both a shooter and playmaker, dishing out 2.6 assists a game. He pairs well with twin brother Gavin Doehrmann, a big man who finishes efficiently around the rim.
4.) 2023 Jaime Grossoehme Jaime Grossoehme 6'1" | SG Webster City | 2023 State IA (Webster City) – 70/146 (47.9%)
A lefty shooter with a smooth stroke, Grossoehme had a breakout junior year, going from 1.1 points a game as a sophomore to 14.3 as a junior. He moves well off the ball and has a quick release off the catch.
5.) 2024 Adam Bryte Adam Bryte 6'4" | SG Adel-DeSoto-Minburn | 2024 State IA (ADM) – 57/124 (46.0%)
A 6-1 sharpshooting guard, Bryte thrived in new coach Trevor Mickelson’s open, free-flowing system. He has a quick release, extended range, and is capable of getting scorching hot in a hurry.
6.) 2023 Colby Collison Colby Collison 6'4" | SF Bondurant-Farrar | 2023 State IA (Bondurant-Farrar) – 39/86 (45.3%)
Collison is a really strong all-around offensive weapon who is always balanced and under control. He takes what is given to him, scores efficiently from all three levels, and does a good job moving without the ball in his hands to get open looks.
7.) 2023 Evan Daugherty (Benton) – 27/62 (43.5%)
The Bobcats won just five games last year, but Daugherty and his twin brother Blake were bright spots, with each showing ability as perimeter shooting threats. With four of the top five scorers returning, expect Benton to be improved behind that duo.
8.) 2023 Owen Olson (Spencer) – 33/76 (43.4%)
A 6-1 combo guard who showed that he can shoot, get to the bucket, and create for others, Olson is going to have a huge load on his shoulders this season for a Tigers team that lost over 42 points a game to graduation.
9.) 2023 Miles Schuiteman (Sioux Center) – 27/64 (42.2%)
Schuiteman is the biggest player on this top 10, a 6-5 stretch forward who provided some needed shooting for the Warriors off the bench. He figures to step into a bigger role as a senior.
10.) 2024 Ben Bockman Ben Bockman 6'5" | SF Decorah | 2024 State IA (Decorah) – 50/119 (42.0%)
Bockman is a talented 6-2 wing who put together a really good sophomore year for the Vikings, posting 55-42-91 shooting splits and averaging 11.7 points a game. With the Vikings losing a ton to graduation, and their top returning scorer likely out for the year with a knee injury, Bockman will be asked to do a ton this season.
