June 30 was the last day of high school summer league and things finished with a bang as Lake Oswego hosted a triple header of games that included themselves and PIL powers Cleveland and Roosevelt. When the dust settled, Cleveland went 2-0, Roosevelt 1-1, and Lake Oswego 0-2. Here’s a look at the top performers we saw that evening.

[player_tooltip player_id="1052572" first="Terrence" last="Hill"] (2024 Roosevelt)

It would not surprise us if Hill leads the PIL in scoring next season. The rising junior has really made an effort to diversify his game offensively by getting into the lane for buckets, all while continuing to maintain his ability to knock down perimeter shots especially off the move. He showed off his range in the game against Lake Oswego, pulling up on the break from near 30 feet in Damian Lillard fashion to drain a couple of deep threes.

[player_tooltip player_id="1110570" first="Chance" last="White"] (2024 Roosevelt)

White can sometimes be overlooked because of the presence of Hill and fellow rising junior [player_tooltip player_id="1110736" first="Utrillo" last="Morris"]. But with Morris only getting some partial playing time, White got his chance to shine. He simply glides to the basket on drives to the basket and has the special ability to finish in acrobatic ways on both sides of the rim. White also knocked down open threes in the corner and was active on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id="1262126" first="Owen" last="Alles"] (2023 Lake Oswego)

With stars [player_tooltip player_id="1276627" first="Winters" last="Grady"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1256637" first="Max" last="Archambo"] unavailable to play due to injury, it was left to Alles to lead a ragtag team of largely JV players and the rising senior delivered. The combo guard was sharp with his shot, sometimes hitting catch and shoot jumpers feet beyond the three-point line, and was creative off of the dribble for himself and his teammates. One thing you can always count on Alles is effort on both ends of the floor and he delivered at all times, even when the Lakers were down double digits.

[player_tooltip player_id="1507262" first="Aengus" last="Sutherland"] (2024 Lake Oswego)

This was our first real look at Sutherland, who instantly passes the look test in warmups. He’s well-built at 6-foot-5 and athletically, easily dunks the ball with two hands. On the court, he showed flashes with his ability to create off the dribble as well as hit perimeter shots. Improvement with his decision making will be key as he heads in this first year on varsity but all of the physical tools are there for the rising junior.

[player_tooltip player_id="1232162" first="Christian" last="Green"] (2023 Cleveland)

Green has been attacking the basket fearlessly this summer, utilizing his wiry strength and athleticism to absorb contact while finishing through drives. That was the case in both games, especially in the spirited rivalry against Roosevelt. He was taking it hard to the hole, getting loose on the break for highlight-reel dunks, and also hitting open threes. While going to his primary hand remains his go-to, we’ve noticed that Green has been improving going to his left as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="865367" first="Sean" last="Chris Tresvant"] (2023 Cleveland)

"SC" had his shot going in both games against Lake Oswego and Roosevelt. The lefty was quick off the dribble and hitting pull-up jumpers and floaters in the lane as always, but showed good touch on catch and shoot opportunities from beyond the arc. As always, he showed great tenacity with his on-the-ball defense, applying pressure in half and full court situations that led to turnovers and easy points.
