Let’s check out some of the Notables I watched from Saturday:
Patrick Mccallop Jr Patrick Mccallop Jr 5'10" Bishop Miege | 2023 KS , 5’11 PG, SSA Elite Black, 2023: The speedy point guard is getting his first action in a long time coming back from a tough pre high school season injury, but he is starting to find his stride. Super speed and quickness on the floor was displayed tonight, hit 5 of 7 from 3, and makes great passes to kick the ball ahead or swing to a shooter. Very good on ball defender and can poke the ball out and lead it to transition buckets.
Emanuel Befekadu, 6’ PG, No Excuses Elite, 2024: A microwave scorer and a big time three point shooter. Lit it up in transition sprinting to that three point line and is always shot ready off the catch. Very quick with the ball in his hands slicing and attacking closeouts as well. He is a guard prospect in GA to watch. Plays with a ton of confidence and is a hard nosed defender.
Josh Brauer Josh Brauer 6'4" | SF Dubuque Senior | 2025 State IA , 6’3 W, Iowa Barnstormers, 2025: A very active wing player with some big time upside. Is a knock down shooter off the catch and is a nice back door cutter, offensive rebounder and stick back player, and has a really high basketball IQ. Had himself a nice Saturday impacting the ball game with winning plays on both ends.
Shane Sims, 6’3 G, Team Teague, 2025: Can score it from all three levels with a nice blend of aggressive attacks, smooth balance, and versatile shot making. Doesn’t force the issue much and has a great understanding of shot selection. Can post it up against smaller guards with a nice turn around jumper, face up game, or rip drives. Very good rebounder for a guard and can defend it at a high level.
Michael Wildes, 6’2 W, Team 1848, 2025: Very active and versatile wing/guard player. Did a great job of rebounding and pushing the tempo to get his guys great opportunities in transition scoring the ball and he got into the paint as well. Really long and active arms on the defensive end allows him to disrupt things for the opposition. Takes great shots on the offensive end and was very efficient today.
Maddox Cornette, 6’8 C, Team1848, 2025: Has a ton of potential with his long frame, rim protecting ability, and inside/out versatility. Really like his vision and passing from all three areas of the floor especially if he gets doubled or dug down into. Nice shooting touch and can see he can playin the dunker spot or as a roller to the rim.
