Continue ReadingA few weeks ago we put out our first class of 2025 rankings in VA, and due to all of the content from the live periods we haven’t had a chance to break down the new rankings.
We’ll take a look at positional rankings, ranking the guards, wings and bigs.
Here’s a look at the wings rankings, ranking the shooting guards and small forwards in the class of 2025.
7) Anthony Saunders Anthony Saunders 6'2" | SG Edison | 2025 State VA | 6’2” SG | Edison (#27 Overall)
Saunders is a name to watch in the Nova public schools in years to come as he worked his way into the starting lineup on a very good Edison team and showed flashes of brilliance with his versatility. He’s an above average athlete who’s likely still growing, he can impact the game on both ends of the floor and offensively he’s a triple threat with his ability to shoot, dribble and pass.
6) Landon Harvey Landon Harvey 6'4" | SG Battlefield | 2025 State VA | 6’3” SG | Woodberry Forest (#25 Overall)
Harvey is part of a talented young Woodberry Forest team that should be a tough out over the next few years and he’s a big reason why as he’s one of the top shooters in the class. The 6’3” lefty moves well off the ball to get open, has considerable range well beyond the high school line and he’s a consistent shooter who isn’t afraid to let it fly in transition.
5) Zekiah Bradley-Gilliat | 6’6” SF | Christchurch (#23 Overall)
Gilliat is one of the most intriguing prospects to watch long term on this list, as he already has great size and is continuing to grow with a versatile game to along with it. He can play and guard multiple positions and impacts the game across the board, he can knock down shots consistently from deep and attack the rim and finish at and above it as well and he’s continuing to develop every time we see him.
4) Sebastian Whitfield Sebastian Whitfield 6'5" | SF Cape Henry | 2025 State VA | 6’5” SF | Cape Henry (#16 Overall)
Whitfield showed flashes as the young guy on a very experienced Cape Henry team, and he showed this summer that he has a big time ceiling as he continues to develop. He already has a great frame with good size on the wing, he’s a very consistent shooter from deep and moves well off the ball to get open and he’s an athletic finisher when he gets downhill at the rim. He brings it on both ends of the floor and should be a breakout player in the 757 this year.
3) Justin Burrough Justin Burrough 6'6" | SF Norfolk Collegiate | 2025 State VA | 6’5” SF | Norfolk Collegiate (#11 Overall)
Burrough is the son of NoCo head coach and former UVA standout Junior Burrough, and he’s primed to be one of the top players in the 757 if not the entire state as he continues to develop as a player. He has big time potential as he already has great size and is likely still growing, he’s a smooth athlete who can put it on the deck and get to the rim and he has big time potential defensively with his length and athleticism. The lefty is already skilled and can score the ball from multiple levels, and he rebounds well and competes on both ends of the floor.
2) Jordan Scott Jordan Scott 6'7" | SG South Lakes | 2025 State #130 Nation VA | 6’4” SG | South Lakes (#9 Overall)
South Lakes has produced quite a few division one wings in the past few seasons under coach Mike Robinson Mike Robinson 6'4" | SF South County | 2026 State VA , and Scott could be the next one as he had a huge freshman year and still is only scratching the surface with how good he can be. At 6’4” he already has a great frame and is a good athlete, he’s a knock down shooter who drills it from deep consistently and he works well off the ball using screens and cuts to get open and get buckets. He’s already seeing division one interest and holds an offer from Radford, and he still has a ton of room to develop on both ends of the floor.
1) Austin Williford Austin Williford 6'4" | CG Saint Anne’s Belfield | 2025 State #137 Nation VA | 6’5” SF | STAB (#3 Overall)
Williford is a guy we’ve watched for years as he played for STAB’s varsity team in the eighth grade, and he’s really starting to turn the corner and develop into the player we all thought he could be. He’s a true two way wing who uses his length to contest shots and get deflections while also guarding the other team’s best player, he’s a big time athlete who can play above the rim when he gets downhill and rebounds well on both ends of the floor and he has shown the ability to knock down shots from deep consistently. He gets better and better every time we watch him play and he is turning into a high major prospect right in front of our eyes.
