The Tour de Jersey continues now into the Skylands Conference. Gill St. Bernards has risen to being the premier program in that region and has enough top tier talent to get their own post.

Throughout his time as the head coach of Gill St. Bernards, Mergin Sina has reached the top of the game in NJ Hoops. His team took a big hit this off-season as Denver Anglin graduated as Nassir Cunningham decided to leave HS hoops for professional development. A host of talented players are slated to return for the Knights, but the loss of Cunningham, a pro prospect as an underclassman, is a big loss to overcome. Regardless, the goals remain the same: Compete for the Somerset County title--at worst, being in the final; and going as deep as possible in the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id="1150545" first="Nick" last="Losada"] | 6’2” | G | Gill St. Bernards

While Losada was primarily an “off the bench” guy for the Knights the first few go-arounds on varsity, he did show a good skillset. He’s a hustler, moves well without the ball, has a quick release on his jumper. Patient in the halfcourt. He’ll be asked to take on an increased role this coming year with the losses GSB has had. He had 11 vs St Thomas Aquinas. D3s should be checking in.

[player_tooltip player_id="1269773" first="Geancarlo" last="Peguero"] | 6’5” | F | Gill St Bernards

Peguero is an athletic wing who knows his way around the basket but can extend his range beyond the arc. He’s a good ballhandler and an athletic defender. He’s got elite level prospect status and holds several D1 offers, including Rutgers and Seton Hall. Peguero was consistently in double digits as a junior. With Gill’s losses, he’ll be expected to shoulder the load as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id="902732" first="Mackenzie" last="Mgbako"] | 6’8” | F |Gill St Bernards

The Duke bound Mgbako has a strong frame at 6’8” and 225lb. He’s an all around threat on offense who can play inside and outside. He’s a tenacious defender. An elite player at the top of his class with professional potential. He was a double-double machine who produced an eye popping 36&20 vs Watchung Hills and 29&15 vs Rutgers Prep. He’s poised for an explosive senior year.
