Here’s some of my top standouts from Sunday’s action at the Ridgewood Live

G [player_tooltip player_id="1215317" first="Eli" last="Aldana"], St. Viator, Sr

St. Viator has a roster full of small, crafty guards. The most impactful one on the floor today was [player_tooltip player_id="1215317" first="Eli" last="Aldana"]. He hit the game-winning shot in their opening game against Lane. Immediately after, he scored an additional 21 points to beat Longwood. He can get buckets from anywhere on the floor. His floater and ball handling were very productive too.

F [player_tooltip player_id="1215289" first="Mekhi" last="Lowery"], Oswego East, Sr

After watching him against Libertyville, I can surely say that Lowery is a triple-double caliber player. His long arms and overall athleticism made him a force on the glass. He can also score inside and stretch the floor for points. But his passing was terrific. I routed at least 8 or 9 assists from Lowery in this game.

F [player_tooltip player_id="1279768" first="Andrew" last="Ayeni"], St. Patrick, Sr

Ayeni led the Shamrocks in scoring agains Curie. He’s a strong forward with nice ball handling skills, and can get up and down the floor at a fast pace. He showed a tremendous amount of confidence attacking the basket, as he found most of his points driving down the paint.

F [player_tooltip player_id="1148119" first="Jeremy" last="Harrington"], Curie, Sr

There was a lot of talent on display for Curie. But I saw Harrington do the most from all of them. He moved well in the paint and did a great job spacing out and grabbing tough rebounds. Later on, I saw him stretch the floor out and hit jumpsuits. he also move the ball well and picked up several assists against Pats.

F [player_tooltip player_id="1215286" first="Prince" last="Adams"], Evanston, Sr

The best defensive performance from the live period probably goes to Adams. I saw him successfully guard lots of players with different skillsets. He had at least 5-6 blocks and a couple steals as his long arms and athletic frame gave him an advantage. Adams also threw down some athletic dunks on offense.

G [player_tooltip player_id="1385293" first="Bryce" last="Heard"], Kenwood, So

Heard impressed me all live period. He scored 15 against Sacred-Heart Griffin in a heartbreaking loss at the buzzer. I saw him put on a show after that. He opened the game against Homewood-Flossmor with three consecutive triples to start the game. He stayed hot throughout the game and found buckets all over the floor. He also made lots of nice plays for his teammates and got down on the floor to snag a loose ball.

W [player_tooltip player_id="1048375" first="Nik" last="Polonowski"], Lyons, Sr

Against Simeon, Polonowski put on a show from downtown with at least 7 3-pointers to make it a contest. Against De la Salle, there was so much more he did to impress me. Polonowski showed off his athleticism with a dunk straight off the tip. He boxed out well and grabbed two offensive boards early and put back one of them. Polonowski hit a couple 3’s in the second half too

W Ryan Mbouombouo, Latin, Jr

The best scoring performance I saw came from Latin’s Ryan Mbouombouo. He’s a lengthy and athletic wing/guard who was a killer attacking the basket. He does an excellent job breaking off defenders and has a unique layup package. He’s surely a 2024 to watch in the future, and scored 30 points to beat Belvedere North.
