2024 Rankings Update: Lockdown Defenders

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1139980" first="Jordan" last="Leslie"] - Mullen </strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1139980" first="Jordan" last="Leslie"] is a point guard who has made a name for himself as a lockdown defender. Jordan is a bulky guard who is good at using his physicality on the defensive end of the floor to bother ballhandlers. On and off of the ball Jordan causes havoc deflecting passes and stripping the ball away from opposing players. Jordan is a guard who runs the offense and is a good decision-maker very often making the right pass. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1351365" first="Brady" last="Greene"] - Riverdale Ridge</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1351365" first="Brady" last="Greene"] is a hustle player who sets the tone for his team with great energy. He is a very good screen setter, who uses good footwork to be a great roller to the basket. On both ends of the floor, Brady is a great communicator who helps get his teammates in the right spots. On the defensive end of the floor, Brady has good instincts when coming over on the help side and uses his long arms and good footwork to block shots. Brady makes all the hustle plays including cleaning the boards, he is one of the best rebounders in his class. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1318406" first="Doren" last="Sacha"] - Thomas Jefferson</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1318406" first="Doren" last="Sacha"] when in the zone is one of the best on-ball defenders in the state. He is a great athlete who uses his elite vertical jump to his advantage. Doren’s foot speed allow’s him to stay in front of quick guards and off of the ball he has good instincts jumping passing lanes to start fastbreaks. When attacking the rim he is great at finishing high using tap-out finishes to finish tough shots above defenders. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1369779" first="Torian" last="Gasaway"] - Smoky Hill</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1369779" first="Torian" last="Gasaway"] is a great defender who can lock down guards and more than hold his own on wings. Torian is a smaller shooting guard but plays bigger than he is. Torian uses his long arms and great lateral speed to pressure the player he is guarding. Offensively he uses his great athleticism to his advantage being a good slasher and finisher at the rim. Torian is great at starting and finishing fastbreaks, with the ball in his hands driving to the basket he is a smooth navigator who has a knack for getting to the rim.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1420306" first="Johnathan" last="Lyons"] - Overland</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1420306" first="Johnathan" last="Lyons"] is a lengthy wing who is a bulldog on the defensive end. Johnathan uses his long arms and in-your-face defense to lockdown positions 1-3 and can hold his own against power forwards. On the offensive end, Johnathan is a shooter you cannot give space on the three-point line. Off of the dribble, he is good at creating looks for himself and hits tough contested mid-range shots.</p>
