With some of the top programs in the state attending, there will be a ton of players who look to raise their stock on Saturday and Sunday. Centralia will be the host of some high level players such as Maleek Arington Maleek Arington 6'3" | PG Auburn | 2022 State WA , Brody Rowbury, and Parker Gerrits Parker Gerrits 6'1" | PG Olympia | 2023 State WA so competition will be high as guys look to prove themselves. These six players are guys I have seen who have the potential to move up the Prep Hoops rankings and get on college coaches radars.
Kobe Parlin Kobe Parlin 6'1" | CG Mark Morris | 2023 State WA – 6’1 CG – Roots Academy (PH #45)
Kobe is one of the best players in Southwest WA and is making a point that he is one of the top guards in the state. Coming from Mark Morris, Kobe has made it a point to focus on his development and raise his stock whenever there are eyes watching. He has an explosive first step and the strength to finish amongst the trees. Kobe is exciting to watch and will continue to turn heads this weekend.
Elijah Cain Elijah Cain 6'2" | SG Kentridge | 2023 State WA – 6’2 SG – BDH Elite (PH #55)
This weekend is a great chance for Elijah to raise his stock. The score first guard is coming off a historic run for Graham Kapowsin but somehow, Elijah is still heavily underrated. Elijah is a big guard with the physical tools and athletic ability that is needed at the next level. He uses his size well to score in traffic at the rim, but he has the range and handle to stretch the floor off the bounce when needed.
Jordan Clark Jordan Clark 6'1" | PG Seattle Christian | 2023 State WA – 6’2 PG – ECBA (PH #75)
Jordan may be one of the most underrated players in the state. I would chalk that up to being a small school product, but his resume speaks for itself. Jordan is a two-time league MVP and has already scored over 1,000 points in his career. He has the size, the game, and the IQ to be one of the top point guards in the 2023 class. His stock will rise this weekend and by end of summer he will be on many college recruiting boards.
Ben Nyquist Ben Nyquist 6'3" | SG Lake Washington | 2022 State WA – 6’3 SG – Seattle Stars (Unsigned Senior)
I was surprised to find out that Ben was still unsigned. His accolades include an All-State selection, 1st Team All-League, Kingco Defensive Player of the Year, and a 43-point game. There isn’t much that he can’t do on the basketball court so this weekend should be a great platform for Ben. Who doesn’t love a knockdown shooter who loves to defend? Did I mention he scored over 500 points this season?
Bobby Siebers Bobby Siebers 6'3" | SF Glacier Peak | 2022 State WA – 6’4 SG – Seattle Stars (Unsigned Senior)
Bobby is a scorer! A lefty who can light it up from deep and do the dirty work in the post when matched up with smaller guards. With over 1,000 points in his career and the school record for points in a game at Glacier Peak, there is a good handful of high school coaches who lost sleep over playing this kid. Bobby was the guy on both ends for his school that was only one game away from playing in the dome. Still unsigned but he shouldn’t be for long. If you get a chance, the Stars are a must-see show.
Wesley Bjornsgard – 6’5 SF – BDH Elite (Unranked)
If there are any coaches looking for an athletic glue guy, Wesley is your guy. The first weekend I saw Wesley, he caught a lob well above the rim and flushed it home with two hands. Not long after, he knocked down a pair of corner threes. Coaches love the player who can thrive in a role and every coach needs a bouncy shooter with a motor. Wesley comes off a junior year campaign where he was a 2nd Team All-League selection but he has the potential to make a name for himself outside of Olympia.
