The Minnesota Magic 15U team came to ball and finished a more than respectable 3-1 with some absolute blowouts under their belts. Here are three of the guys who got it done for them consistently:
Myles Greenwood, 6-0, Prior Lake, Minnesota Magic 15U
Greenwood was the go-to guy for Minnesota Magic all weekend. The first thing about Greenwood that stands out is his incredible pull up jumper. He was able to get shots off against all kinds of defenders and was electric from distance. He’s not super tall, but Greenwood’s timing on his shots enabled him to be effective in getting shots off agaistt larger defenders. Even with the quick release, Greenwood’s accuracy is spot-on and he was knocking shots down from everywhere. Some of the other facets of his offensive game need polishing, but ultimately he was an effective enough shooter to overcome those obstacles. He’s got great size for a guard and is crafty going to the basket. Greenwood is an intriguing prospect and should only develop with time.
Norbu Jenpa Norbu Jenpa 6'4" | SF Prior Lake | 2025 State MN , 6-1, Prior Lake, Minnesota Magic 15U
Jenpa and Greenwood created a deadly perimeter duo for Minnesota Magic just like how they do at Prior Lake High. Jenpa has a similar game to Greenwood, with some minor changes. Jenpa is also a great shooter, and this duo felt lights out in every game I watched. While Jenpa also has decent size, he also has a much more explosive first step and was surprisingly shifty for a guard of his size. Jenpa wasn’t afraid to take contact and let big men put him at the free throw line, since he was automatic from there all weekend. With wing size and a guard skill set, all Jenpa needs is a little bit of height and some more polishing and he could be a legitimate collegiate prospect in the next few years.
Trey Borchers Trey Borchers 6'2" | SG Anoka | 2025 State MN , 6-0, Anoka, Minnesota Magic 15U
Borchers was a constant threat to the opposition all weekend long. To add to the barrage started by Greenwood and Jenpa, Borchers was a very good put shooter who put the ball in the basket a lot. With a rigid frame and big shoulders, Borchers was able to consistently get to his spots in the mid range as well and had the handles arsenal to get there. He has a developing physique that aids him in taking contact, but he has a high enough IQ to maneuver around having to take a ton of contact from big men. I enjoyed watching Borchers’ play style and think he can develop into a really solid guard. He has the foundation to become a great 3-and-D or shoot-first shooting guard.
