What Illinois prospects were sleepers that caught our attention at The Stage in Indianapolis? Here are The Stage: Scotty B’s Illinois Sleepers!

[player_tooltip player_id="1215311" first="Nikola" last="Abusara"] (Full Package 17U)

This wing is a jack of all trades that does the little things well and is always around the ball. The Benet three man was a stat sheet stuffer scoring on crafty drives, excellent passes for assists, rebounded well, and defended at a super high level.

[player_tooltip player_id="1371072" first="Jakeem" last="Cole"] (Hoops 4 Health 17U)

The Leo guard can flat out go! He is a dynamic open court player that continues to shine in the transition game each and every time we see him play.

Kros Barrett (Team Rose 17U)

Barrett was a consistent bucket getter for Team Rose over the weekend. The Curie guard can create his shot off the dribble getting to the hoop or rising for a feathery jumper.

Brett Hardy (Team Rose 17U)

This Bloom two guard caught our attention with his open floor play. He got loose several times for creative conversions at the hoop and was an adequate shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id="1157238" first="Jet" last="Jones"] (Team Ten Jabari Parker 16U)

This 5’11” floor general emerged with a strong performance for Team Ten. The Plainfield East lead guard is a slick ball handler that loved the mid-range shot and floaters. Did a nice job of running his team.

[player_tooltip player_id="1157220" first="Sean" last="Brown-Coley"] (Team Ten Jabari Parker 16U)

Big bodied shooting guard was effective using his toughness around the hoop for scores throughout the game that we saw.

[player_tooltip player_id="1295497" first="Josh" last="Aniceto"] (Basketball Paradise 16U)

Heady guard from Bolingbrook that makes everything go for Basketball Paradise. He gets his shooters the ball in spots to let it fly. Finds his big man on the move. The Bolingbrook guard can also get hot on his own scoring.

[player_tooltip player_id="1215310" first="Jarrod" last="Gee"] (Chicago Lockdown 17U)

Super high-energy small forward that is extremely active as a rebounder, finisher around the hoop, and a plus defender.

[player_tooltip player_id="1215299" first="Dylan" last="Schmidt"] (Chicago Lockdown 17U)

Big weekend for Schmidt. The shooting guard was a three point marksmen throughout the event. More than just a sharp shooter however as he mixed in some scoop shots and was feisty on the defensive end.

Christian Cummings (Mac Irvin Fire 15U)

This Rockford Christian 5’11” point guard put his name on our radar with a solid performance. Straight line driver that won off the dribble and can really score at the rim with creativity. Capable shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id="1385283" first="Aleks" last="Alston"] (Mac Irvin Fire 15U)

Alston isn’t really a sleeper to us, but to most fans he is. Didn’t play varsity and is overshadowed by some others in the 2025 class, but we love his upside. Combo forward that can really pass, sound shooting stroke, and handles it well in space. All the tools to be a good defender.

Will O’Shields (Illinois Stars 17U)

Yet another breakout name here in this DePaul Prep wing. Athletic and broad shouldered 2023 small forward is a high-energy two way player that can defend, finish in transition, and is quick to the glass on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048322" first="Collin" last="Wainscott"] (Illinois Stars 17U)

Wainscott is a big time shot maker from his point guard spot. The Marmion Academy guard is at his best initiating the offense and then moving without the ball to get open for threes with his sniper stroke!

[player_tooltip player_id="1113525" first="Caden" last="Hawkins"] (Illinois Bears 17U)

Hawkins had one of the best games of his career on Sunday. The Carterville point guard was hitting everything he threw up. Array of threes, floaters, and was banking in shots from difficult angles.

Tyler Franklin (Illinois Bears 17U)

Franklin came up huge for the Bears as their big man got the tip in at the buzzer to win against the Illinois Stars. Rebounds well in traffic with his strong hands and is so adept at drawing fouls while still finishing. Can face up a bit from the mid-range and stretched it to beyond the arc for a pair of threes.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048379" first="Kyle" last="Olagbegi"] (Illinois T-Wolves 17U)

Jack of all trades here! This long wing can defend at a high level, use his strides to go coast to coast, and crashes the glass. Stuffs the stat sheet!

[player_tooltip player_id="1279770" first="Emory" last="Marshall"] (Illinois Jaguars 17U)

Marshall closed out a nice weekend for the Illinois Jaguars with a big performance. The Montini guard is one to watch for the Jaguars this spring with his two way ability.
