The 6-foot-11, 270-pound post had the kind of senior season at Mountain View he hoped he would have and he caught the eye of college coaches. As he starts figuring out his future, Prictor recently took the floor as a member of Team Oregon to compete in WAVOR the game and it was an experience he’ll always remember.
“It was fun and it’s always nice to play with four other guys on the court that know what they’re doing and are really good players,” Prictor said. “Everyone on the team was a really good player and I like them as guys too, so it was a fun game, fun practicing with some high-level guys.”
In the game, Prictor definitely had his moments. In shooting 5-for-7 from the field, he posted up strong, finished some thunder dunks, and also looked good blocking a couple of shots.
“When I got the ball I felt really dominant in the post,” Prictor said. “Obviously I didn’t get the ball as much as I would have liked to but when I did, I felt good about how I played. Four good dunks, two of them in traffic, couple of good post moves in there – I thought I played how I should have.”
The game was fairly indicative of the way Prictor performed this past year at Mountain View. On the year, he averaged 14.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks while shooting a robust 60.7 percent from the field.
“I definitely improved from last season,” Prictor said. “It was kind of the first real season without being injured or COVID so I had fun with the guys. Wish we could have made it further than the first round but it is what it is, and it was fun while it lasted.”
Prictor has been focusing in on his college recruitment as of late. He recently visited St. Martin’s where he was able to work out with the team and the staff is interested in seeing more of him play in club ball. A visit to Sonoma State could be in the works and he’s also heard from Pittsburg State in Kansas. Junior college possibilities such as Eastern Arizona, Clackamas, and Lane are all in the mix. Prictor broke what he’s processing.
“I’m going to play a little bit of AAU and see what comes around and then I’ll make my decision end of April, start of May,” Prictor said. “If I decide to go JUCO it will be so I can see the court more and really develop myself, pretty much do nothing but school and basketball, try to better my game and then hopefully transfer as I want to play at the highest level I can. But if I’m playing D-II, it’s a different level, facilities, team, and competition. I’ve just got to weigh my options and see what would benefit me the most as far as my development and getting to the next level.”
Prictor will be playing AAU basketball with the Oregon Prospects on a largely unsigned senior squad. He currently ranks as the #67 ranked player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2022 rankings.
