The aggressive 6-foot-2 combo guard helped lead Tualatin to its first-ever boys state championship and has been celebrating ever since. While he’s still sorting out his future college plans, Ogoli suited up one more time as a senior for Team Oregon in the first WAVOR the Game played since 2019. Despite the loss, it was a worthwhile time.
“It started from last weekend when we started having practice,” Ogoli said. “We all got to bond with everybody super well and get to know each other and it just led to the game. We didn’t get the result we wanted but it still was a fun experience that we’ll not forget.”
In the game, Ogoli was solid tallying 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists while showing some good motor on the defensive end. It was a good close out to a great high school career and a nice lead into what’s next for him, his college recruitment. He noted that right now he’s mainly looking at four schools – in no particular order, Eastern Arizona JC, Bushnell, Redlands (CA), and Central Washington. He’s visited Bushnell and is hoping to make trips to Redlands and possibly Eastern Arizona soon.
“I haven’t committed yet but I’m getting close to making a decision,” Ogoli said. “I’m going to discuss it with my close family and figure out what’s best for me.”
Until that point, Ogoli continues to bask in the glow of being a state champion. “It really hit when we went to Cabo – a couple of us went to Cabo for spring break and we were celebrating there,” Ogoli said. “We still haven’t gotten our rings yet but it’s going to be nice when we get those. The feeling was amazing and I miss it.”
Ogoli currently ranks as the #9 ranked player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2022 rankings.
