1. Isaiah Feazell – Gregori 2024
Feazell is a very good ball-handler with a strong off the dribble game. He’s crafty with the ball in his hands, able to split the defense and he’s a good passer in transition. He can push the pace and play in an uptempo style of game or slow the ball down and play in a halfcourt set. Uses spin moves off the dribble to get loose and get to the rim. He does a good job fighting in the paint for rebounds as a small guard. Defensively, he has quick hands to create turnovers and in one of the games I saw, he had the game-winning steal.
2. Donovan Larry – IE Fire Elite 2024
Larry is quick little guard who pushes the pace in transition. He’s a good ball-handler who can break the defense down off the dribble and get into the lane. Uses jump stops well in the paint to get the defense off balance. Plays a good halfcourt game; he has good vision and finds open teammates. He was also one of the better defensive guards I saw. He plays strong on ball defense and keeps the ball-handler in front of him.
3. Dewayne Patterson Jr. – Rancho Mirage 2023
I only watched Patterson for one game, but in that one game he stood out as a good point guard. He’s another good ball-handler who can break down the defense without using a screen. He gets to the rim, draws contact and can get himself to the free-throw line where he shoots it at a good clip. He pushes the pace in transition and initiates the offense well. Defensively, he slides his feet and keeps the ball-handler in front of him.
4. Derek Tuason – San Marcos 2024
Tuason stood out as a player who can play both guard positions. When it comes to scoring, he can really light it up from three-point range with a quick release. Good catch and shoot player who moves well without the ball. He’s a good ball-handler who can break down the defense off the dribble and he finds open teammates in the halfcourt. He’s also a good on-ball defender and good free-throw shooter under pressure.
