Parker Baumann Parker Baumann 6'5" | CG Shorecrest | 2023 State WA – 6’5 SG/SF – Shorecrest HS
By this time next year, I would not be surprised if Parker is one of the best seniors in the state. After a junior year campaign that included an all-area and first team selection, Parker continued his success at the showcase. Through four games he averaged 16 points and led the showcase in rebounds with over 10 a game. Right now, Parker lives in the mid-range with an old school like game. If Parker can become quicker laterally and be more consistent from three he will be a serious prospect to keep an eye on.
Elijah Cain Elijah Cain 6'2" | SG Kentridge | 2023 State WA – 6’2 SG – Kentridge HS
Elijah is a pure scorer and after taking Graham Kapowsin to the state tournament for the first time in school history, he looks to show he is worth watching long term. Much of his scoring throughout the year came off of catch and shoot threes and using his strength to get by defenders. His performance at the showcase showed his improved ball handling and ability breakdown help defenders. Elijah has the potential to develop into a great scorer if he can continue adding tools to his toolkit.
Jamari Jackson Jamari Jackson 6'1" | PG Garfield | 2023 State WA – 6’1 PG – Franklin HS
Jamari was one of the best shooters in the showcase and he made a point to prove it. He can shoot it off the dribble, off the catch, and in transition. I think he proved his elite shooting ability throughout his high school career but at the showcase he really showed an ability to get to the basket. In his second game Jamari erupted for 25 points and showed he can score in a variety of ways. He also showed competitiveness that isn’t common at showcase events.
Jerry Petty Jr. – 5’9 PG – Rainier Beach
One of the players that was the most fun to watch was Jerry Petty Jr.. He is a super quick and crafty guard that creates his own energy. It is always refreshing to see a kid who knows angles and how to exploit a defense on limited moves. He made great reads out of the pick and roll and showed he could pass and finish with either hand. Jerry is a smaller guard, but his athleticism and quickness make up for his size.
Keon Dewalt Keon Dewalt 6'4" | SF Silas | 2023 State WA – 6’3 SG – Silas HS
Keon is one of the best scorers in the Tacoma area and he has been on a terror as of late to show he is someone worth watching. Keon lit up the gym with his athletic bounce and ability to shoot off the dribble. He caught fire in one game and had 30 points with most of them being shots from behind the arc. Keon is a couple more tools away from being a real problem for defenders.
