During a busy weekend in the Hoosier state, Adidas 3SSB shared the spotlight with Under Armour, Prep Hoops, and Grassroots XL to bring several top athletes to Indianapolis for a weekend of hoops. In this piece today, I will be reviewing my top guards from Ohio throughout Adidas action Saturday and Sunday.
RJ Greer 6’4 PG (2025) Midwest Basketball Club (Springboro)
Greer played at a high level against Team Rose and showed why he is one of the better players in the 2025 class. His range on the perimeter pushed near collegiate range and the confidence to put those shots up was also present. Played well on both ends of the floor, showing he can defend either guard positions on the perimeter. Greer recently picked up an offer from Florida and could see more offers roll in as the AAU season progresses.
Cody Head Cody Head 6'1" | CG Lutheran East | 2023 State OH 6’2 PG (2023) Wildcat Select (Lutheran East)
Head was impressive against Midwest Basketball Club’s 17U matchup Saturday afternoon. The lefty guard is a poised player on the perimeter. I liked his speed off the bounce and shiftiness when attacking opposing bigs. Consistently finished around the rim and over taller defenders. Head seemed to be able to take over the scoring for Wildcat when they needed a boost.
Amire Robinson Amire Robinson 6'4" | SF Buchtel | 2023 State OH 6’3 SG (2023) Indiana Elite (Buchtel)
Robinson plays with a high motor on the defensive end, showing he can successfully defend 1-3 positions. Bigger for a guard, Robinson has the athleticism and overall toughness to be a scholarship defender. Good build and IQ on the defensive end. I would like to see a little more in his offensive game but feel whole heartedly he can be an elite defender at the next level.
Jerry Easter 6’5 PG (2025) Super Friendz (Emmanuel Christian)
Sunday was my first in-person look at Easter and the Super Friendz. Even though Team Trae Young did a great job of holding him to a minimum amount of points, Easter still was impactful throughout the action I watched. Already gifted with good size for a PG, Easter has a quick and tight handle of the ball. Used his speed and accelaration to get downhill and finish around the rim well. Already owns several HM offers and likely will be adding more as the 3SSB season continues.
Jonathan Powell Jonathan Powell 6'5" | SG Centerville | 2024 State #164 Nation OH 6’4 SG (2024) Wildcat Select (Chaminade-Julienne)
Powell used the weekend with his new team to increase his stock and lure some HM looks/offers. The 6’4 SG has continued to show more confidence putting the ball on the floor vs settling for his 3PT shots. Against Indiana Elite, Powell scored from different levels, and particularly shot the ball better than I’ve seen previously. His overall offensive game continues to improve and make him a must-see prospect out of Southwest Ohio on the AAU scene. Picked up an offer from Illinois after his performance.
