Rich Rolf Rich Rolf 6'6" | PF Centerville | 2022 State OH , 6’6 PF Centerville 2022: Rolf is my top available prospect as the senior stepped his game up big time for the Elks last season. Rolf is one of the best rebounders I’ve scouted during my time in Ohio and has developed into a deadeye shooter from long range. Rolf just fits into a variety of different teams with his ability to rebound, space the floor and make quick decisions with the basketball. Rolf can also impact the game without needing the ball in his hands. I think Rolf is a guy who would crack most mid-majors regular rotation as a freshman and should be highly coveted by teams with available scholarships.
Louie Semona Louie Semona 6'7" | PF St Xavier | 2022 State OH , 6’7 PF St Xavier 2022: Semona is one of the more intriguing available prospects with a lot of versatility on the perimeter from the forward position. Semona is a good shooter from a spot-up, can handle the basketball and is an underrated athlete. Semona put-up big-time numbers in a slower paced GCL-South this season and should be a top prospect for any Division II schools in the region. Semona posted one offer from Hillsdale back in the summer and I’m not sure why more scholarship programs haven’t been more active in recruiting Semona.
Justin Perry Justin Perry 6'7" | PF New Albany | 2022 State OH , 6’7 PF New Albany 2022: Perry is another prospect who has some very intriguing long-term potential upside with his skill level at 6’7. Perry is a good passer and can handle the ball on the perimeter. New Albany ran a majority of their offense through Perry and he thrived as a central decision making hub for his team. Perry received offers to Findlay and Hillsdale last Fall but hasn’t posted any offers since. Perry has specific academic interests that could give some schools an advantage in his recruiting race.
Jayden Nervis Jayden Nervis 6'6" | PF Hilliard Davidson | 2022 State OH , 6’5 PF Hilliard Davidson 2022: Nervis is a slimmer wing forward who is a solid option for JUCO programs looking for more athleticism from the wing forward position. Nervis had a solid senior season where he made big plays in the clutch, including a buzzer-beater against Jonathan Alder to keep his team unbeaten early in the year. Nervis thrives in transition and is a decent shooter from the outside.
Ryan Mueller Ryan Mueller 6'7" | PF Gilmour Academy | 2022 State OH , 6’7 PF Gilmour 2022: Mueller was terrific during his senior season, leading Gilmour all the way to the state title game. Mueller is a good athlete at 6’7 who averaged a couple dunks a game when I watched him this season. Mueller is explosive off the jump and tough to stop around the basket. Gilmour and TNBA have sent a lot of players to schools like John Carroll, but Mueller should also be receiving heavy interest from scholarship programs as well. It will be interesting to track where Mueller ends up playing next season.
Caleb Iheukwu Caleb Iheukwu 6'5" | PF Westerville North | 2022 State OH , 6’5 PF Westerville North 2022: Iheukwu is a late blooming wing forward who has his best basketball ahead of him. Iheukwu put together strong performances at the 270 hoops events in the fall before breaking out in the OCC as a senior. Iheukwu is starting to shoot the basketball better from the outside and is a great defensive athlete. Division III programs have made him a priority and I really like his long term upside at that level.
Jaiden Cox Holloway Jaiden Cox Holloway 6'6" | PF Richmond Heights | 2022 State OH , 6’6 PF Richmond Heights 2022: A riser after the state tournament weekend, Cox Holloway de-committed from Wooster and is looking to potentially increase his options before making another decision. Cox Holloway is an ideal floor-spacing wing forward who has the size and length to be a positive defender as well. It’ll be interesting to see if Cox Holloway gets more interest from scholarship programs, or if potentially Wooster could convince him to commit again.
