Justin Finkbine (Tri-Village)
Finkbine made hustle plays all day against Botkins and played a huge role in the Patriots somewhat hanging around in the 1st half. The 6-foot-5 senior won 50/50 balls both on the glass and chasing after loose balls. Finkbine utilized his bigger frame to truly control the offensive glass and was especially lethal in the first quarter. Finkbine isn’t typically mentioned due to the firepower offensively from other Patriot players, but his presence defensively is a big reason why Tri-Village is one of the better D4 programs in the state.
Antaune Allen Antaune Allen 6'2" | CG Dunbar | 2023 State OH (Dunbar)
Allen kept the Wolverines in this game with mighty Buchtel in a Sunday showdown. The junior guard seemingly glided through the air as he slashed to the rim. Allen was highly successful finishing the ball around some of Buchtel’s height and utilized his bounce to draw fouls. Allen stepped up and knocked down some big shots down the stretch when Buchtel took away his driving lanes. With Dunbar beginning to find their footing, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Allen sees his recruitment rise as Dunbar gets more attention.
Khoi Thurmon Khoi Thurmon 6'1" | PG Buchtel | 2023 State OH (Buchtel)
Thurmon was my favorite prospect in his game against Dunbar as the lefty PG does a lot of the intangibles well. Sure he can score in a variety of ways, but Thurmon impresses with his passing and playmaking. His speed with the ball lets him get by the first defender and allow him to make a good decision on his next play. Thurmon has proved to be a key contributor for the Griffins since losing Chris Livingston and will continue to be a key go-to player as the Griffins end the regular season and enter postseason play.
Logan Woods Logan Woods 6'4" | SG Fairfield | 2022 State OH (Fairfield)
Woods continues to make a case as one of the best two-way players in the entire state. The Wright State commit plays with a lot of energy and gets after it when defending on-ball. Woods proved to be a dependable threat for the Indians late as they looked to stay in their matchup with St. Vincent-St. Mary. Woods knocked down some big shots down the stretch to keep Fairfield in this game. He is bound to have a good career with the Raiders with his emphasis on defensive basketball coupled with the scoring capabilities he brings.
Rich Rolf Rich Rolf 6'6" | PF Centerville | 2022 State OH (Centerville)
Rolf likely had the most memorable performance this year as he guided the Elks to a huge win over nationally ranked SoCal Academy. Rolf knocked down the first 5 three-pointers he took in the game and ultimately ended with 29 points in the win. Rolf has received mainly LM offers at this point in his career, but has a legitimate chance to pick up some new offers at maybe the HM/MM level after this performance against a team loaded with D1 talent.
