<p>The inaugural 252/919 Winter Classic from Washington High School and presented by BT Global finished in a 3-3 tie with the 919 squads representing well in it’s debut. Trinity Academy Raleigh, Cleveland High and Millbrook High were all stellar in representing for the 919 and in turn, allows to shine some light on some top performances.</p>
<p>Cleveland High was probably the most impressive all-around squad as [player_tooltip player_id="1253927" first="Baron" last="Williams"], [player_tooltip player_id="944989" first="Trey" last="Fields"], [player_tooltip player_id="1363152" first="Dylan" last="Smith"], [player_tooltip player_id="577886" first="Dylan" last="Wiggins"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1363146" first="Cam" last="Goins"] were all equally impressive as they cruised to an 81-51 victory, their 12th of the season. Smith posted a double-double (18 pts, 11 rebs, 6 asts, 3 stls), Wiggins filled up the stat sheet with eight points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocks. Goins got them off to a 10-0 run in the first quarter with five early points and finished with nine points and seven rebounds.</p>
<p>They’re off to a 12-1 start, 3-0 already in conference action and currently on a 10-0 winning streak heading into the bulk of conference action now. They’ll face Clayton on the road on Tuesday then Fuquay-Varina on Friday this week. They’re a well-coached group with college-level talent and some unsigned seniors to get eyes on.</p>
<p>Trinity Academy Raleigh is another team that’s peaking at the right time, even without 2023 standout [player_tooltip player_id="1014991" first="Kevon" last="Vanderhorst"]. [player_tooltip player_id="848082" first="Noah" last="Ross"] and [player_tooltip player_id="838046" first="Sam" last="Perez"] have already made names for themselves but they’ve also got [player_tooltip player_id="1363660" first="Trey" last="Barker"], [player_tooltip player_id="1363140" first="Zach" last="Sloan"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1363176" first="Trevor" last="Barrett"] playing strong as they’re off to a 12-2 start and 3-0 start in the Tri-TAC Conference as they look to win the conference title this season. They’ve got a few more non-conference games left on the slate, with Wayne Country Day on Thursday and Moravian Prep on Saturday before returning to conference action. They’ll be a squad to watch on the NCISAA 2A stage this season.</p>
<p>Millbrook High has been a gritty group this season as evidenced by their 7-7 record. Since snapping a seven-game losing streak, they’ve won three games in a row, including a big victory over Farmville Central (though it came without 2023 standout [player_tooltip player_id="854917" first="Jah" last="Short"]). [player_tooltip player_id="1272558" first="Colt" last="Langdon"], [player_tooltip player_id="1126560" first="CeeJay" last="Jordan"], [player_tooltip player_id="1062157" first="Jacob" last="Lawton"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1220100" first="Jaylan" last="Bowen"] have been solid in the starting lineup and their reserves have been led by the presence of [player_tooltip player_id="1343867" first="Gabriel" last="Cerda"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1343918" first="Bailey" last="Daniels"]. They haven’t wavered despite the adversity they’ve faced so far this season. They’ll resume conference action this Friday with a home game against Rolesville.</p>
