A natural Point Guard that understands how the portion is supposed to be run, he’s an extension of the coach on the court and never seems to get too high or low. He makes the right reads more often than not, can knock down open shots and doesn’t turn the ball over often.

His team would come up short in the quarterfinals, but he tried to do everything in his power to lead them to a victory, scoring a game high of 22 Points. He understands how the Point Guard position is supposed to be ran, getting his team into their sets and not forcing things often. One of his best attributes is his ability to knock down perimeter shots with consistency.

After a successful Senior season and interest from several college programs, he made the decision to take the post grad route and will play for Flight 22 Prep. He’s one of the few true PG’s that we got the opportunity to see recently, has a nice IQ for the game and knocks down shots from the perimeter.

Barrett has someone I’ve watched for a while now, back when he was at Grassroots NC tearing the travel scene up, and he continues to do a lot of the same things he’s always done well. He’s become more of a lead guard than a scorer for this Team Loaded group, but still does both things with poise. He’s got great vision in the open floor and in the halfcourt, hitting teammates on the move, off ball screens for example. He also gets to his spots he prefers on the floor well to knock down pull ups or off the catch jumpers. Barrett is a plus shooter from deep as well. Defensively, he does not shine, but is able to hold his own and guard who is asked of him. This kid is an offensive Swiss Army knife that can play both guard spots and should be on radars as a late pickup in this upcoming live period.

Barrett stood out with his ability to make plays in the first half. He got things going for his squad with 11 first half points and kept things close when Grace Christian went on a run. He showed he wasn’t afraid to get to the paint and make things happen. He’s an unsigned senior guard for DII and DIII schools to get eyes on.

Barrett stepped up in the backcourt, despite fouling out before the final result. He finished with 14 points, showing he could knock down shots on the perimeter and finish in traffic when working through their offense. He’s another unsigned senior guard in the Raleigh area for DII programs to get eyes on.

Barrett was another guard to know in Trinity Academy Raleigh’s backcourt following their victory. He led the way for them in the playmaking department with six assists while also putting up 13 points and seven rebounds to show he’s a guard that can do a little bit of everything to make the offense go. He’s another unsigned senior for DII and DIII coaches to get to know out of the 919 area.

Out of all the players listed, he was one of the most consistent players that we got the opportunity to see during the spring/summer grassroots season. He has deep/consistent shooting range from three-point land, is a solid ballhandler, plays the game at the pace that he’s comfortable with and understands how to get to his spots to get his shots off.
