Freshmen Making Early Impact

Prep Hoops is always looking down the road for the future of basketball here in the Palmetto State. Who are some Freshmen in the Palmetto State making an early impact? This list is BY NO MEANS a complete list of players. This list is by stats provided and seen so far on this young season.

Kam’Ron Williams Kam’Ron Williams 6'1" | PG Quality Education Academy | 2025 State NC – Southside HS (Greenville) 

Williams a guard is off to a fast start averaging 19.1 ppg this season for the Tigers. 

Jamie Brooks Jamie Brooks 6'5" | C North Myrtle Beach | 2025 State SC – North Myrtle Beach HS (pictured on front)

Brooks has had several double doubles this season already for the Chiefs. Jamie is averaging 14.3 ppg, 11.4 rebounds and 1.8 blocks. 

Jordan Watford Jordan Watford 6'4" | PG Lancaster | 2025 State SC – Lancaster HS 

Jordan has the Bruins off to a (10-1) start this season. Watford is averaging 13.3 ppg already almost halfway through the season. 

Hayden Assemian Hayden Assemian 6'8" | PF Powdersville | 2025 State SC – Powdersville HS 

Hayden is a multi-sport athlete but right now is currently averaging 13.2 ppg for the Patriots. 

Abijah Franklin Abijah Franklin 6'4" | SG Wren | 2025 State SC – Greenville HS 

Franklin can really dial it in from downtown for the Red Raiders. The younger brother of Prometheus Franklin Prometheus Franklin 6'3" | PG Greenville | 2022 State SC has opponents seeing both in the backcourt at times. Franklin is averaging 9 ppg while shooting 41% from behind the three-point line. 

Caden Edmond Caden Edmond 6'2" | SG Central Pageland | 2025 State SC – Central HS (Pageland) 

Edmond grabbed Prep Hoops attention this summer at the SCBCA Camp in Rock Hill. Edmond is currently averaging 12.5 ppg for the Eagles.

Dominic Cotton Dominic Cotton 6'3" | SF Darlington | 2025 SC – Darlington HS 

Cotton is a nice piece to build around for Head Coach Brad Knox moving forward with the Falcons program. 

Robert Moore Robert Moore 6'5" | SF Porter Gaud | 2025 State SC – Porter Gaud 

Moore looks to be the future of Cyclones basketball in the SCISA Class 3A level. 

Shane Potts Shane Potts 6'1" | CG Goose Creek | 2025 State SC – Goose Creek HS 

Potts is seeing good minutes at the Class 5A level for the Gators and Head Coach Blake Hall. Potts is averaging 12.2 ppg this season. 

Kaleb Phillips Kaleb Phillips 6'3" | SG Gaffney | 2025 State SC – Gaffney HS 

Phillips a sharp-shooting guard is currently averaging 10 ppg this season for the Indians.

John Simmons John Simmons 6'3" | SF Myrtle Beach | 2025 State SC – Myrtle Beach HS 

Simmons is a great athlete and a big-time Wide Receiver down the road for the Seahawks. 

LJ Britt LJ Britt 6'3" | SF Gray Collegiate | 2025 State SC – Gray Collegiate 

Britt has been playing a lot of minutes to start the season for the War Eagles. LJ plays very mature for his age and seems to be making the transition very well. 

Javion Crawford Javion Crawford 6'8" | PF Conway | 2025 State SC – Conway HS 

Crawford is a RAW talent in the middle for the Tigers. Javion has good size and length, and you can’t teach size. 

Jackson Robinson Jackson Robinson 6'6" | SF Wilson | 2025 State SC – South Florence HS 

Robinson recently made the move over to the Bruins from nearby Trinity Collegiate. Jackson has been a welcome edition already to the squad.
