What makes him such a difficult matchup at the high school level is his ability to score from inside and from three-point land while standing at 6’8.
North Duplin Freshman Donovan Armwood: Has an advanced feel for the game even though he is just beginning his high school career. He doesn’t force plays often, is a willing passer and gives a high amount of effort on the defensive side of the ball. Playing solid on-ball defense, getting steals in the passing lanes and taking charges are all things that you will see from him.
West Carteret HS Junior Guard Dylan McBride Dylan McBride 6'0" | PG West Carteret | 2023 State NC : Does an outstanding job of running the show for his team, facilitating to his team at a nice level while picking the times to look for his own offense. He’s strong with the ball, and didn’t allow defenders to crowd him very often.
East Carteret Sophomore Guard Shamel Baker Shamel Baker 6'0" | PG East Carteret | 2024 State NC : He provides a high amount of production and despite his team being undermanned, he competed hard throughout. One of the more impressive attributes about Baker is how well he looked to get others involved even though he is clearly the best offensive player on his team.
North Duplin Sophomore Guard Dujuan Armwood: His team struggled to get going at times on offense but he was one of the players that was able to provide some much-needed offense. Knocking down shots from three-point land and using his strength to score through contact in the paint were the main ways that he was able to get the job done.
East Carteret Sophomore Guard Charles Matheka Charles Matheka 5'11" | SG East Carteret | 2024 State NC : A young prospect that’s seeing a high amount of time on the court, he had some moments where he showed what he can potentially be. He has a smooth shooting stroke which was on display throughout the night from midrange and three-point land.
Hobbton HS Freshman Guard Ashawd Wynn: Logging Major minuets for his team, he’s getting a high amount of experience that will only help him as he continues to progress through his high school career. Scoring, rebounding, defending and facilitating are all things that he must do to keep his team competitive on a nightly basis.
