<p>Here’s a look at the 4A state season rankings after week 1 of the season. </p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Las Vegas</strong> (LW) #2 Week 1-0 Season 1-0 Next vs Palo Verde – Vegas was dominant in its only game of the week. The new number one got 36 from the backcourt of [player_tooltip player_id="1220975" first="Tavionte" last="Jackson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="856644" first="TJ" last="Brown"], and another 20 from freshman [player_tooltip player_id="1253136" first="Tayshaun" last="Jackson"]. They have a big week ahead with matchups against Palo Verde, and undefeated Shadow Ridge, and Valley. </li>
<li><strong>Silverado</strong> (LW) #3 Week 2-0 Season 2-0 Next at Faith Lutheran - Skyhawks got 34 from [player_tooltip player_id="1286525" first="Kenyon" last="Giles"] to beat Arbor View, and defeated Cimarron 72-62. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id="1281194" first="Julius" last="Robinson"] had a nice debut with 14 against Arbor. They travel to play 5A Faith on Monday. </li>
<li><strong>Valley</strong> (LW) #7 – The Vikings have emerged as a legitimate 4A Championship contender. Junior Point Guard Naka Fabello has been brilliant and freshman wing Kevin Wilkins has thrown his hat into the ring as one of the state’s top shooters. Coach Scott has a deep and highly skilled team. They travel to Eldorado, before a huge test against #1 Las Vegas. </li>
<li><strong>Spring Valley</strong> (LW) #1 Week 2-1 Season 2-1 Next - at Canyon Springs - The Grizzlies rebounded from their season-opening loss to Valley with back-to-back wins over Basic and Shadow. They’re led by their sensational sophomore duo of [player_tooltip player_id="986798" first="Alijah" last="Adem"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1129386" first="Pharaoh" last="Compton"]. Adem nearly put up a triple-double against Basic, finishing with 29-12 and 8. The high-flying Compton finished with a double-double of his own with 15 - 10. The Grizzlies got back senior forward [player_tooltip player_id="1275253" first="Carson" last="Dooley"] who finished with 10 in his debut against Basic. They’ll face 5A Canyon Springs, before traveling to Centennial for this week’s Balldawg GOTW. </li>
<li><strong>Sierra Vista </strong>(LW) #5 Week 1-1 – Season 1-1 Next at Western - SV cruised past Sunrise Mountain before falling to Valley in a tough Overtime game. [player_tooltip player_id="1267712" first="Kyrance" last="Jefferson"] scored 14 against Western and sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id="1142271" first="Khamari" last="Taylor"] had 13 in his first Varsity game. Challenging week for them as they face three straight on the road vs Western, Faith, and Cimarron. </li>
<li><strong>Mojave</strong> (LW) #6 Week 5-1 Season 5-1 Next vs Gorman The Rattlers used an emotional win over crosstown rival Cheyenne in the GOTW as the catalyst to a 5-1 week. Their only loss came to out-of-state foe Clovis East. After scoring 20 points in his debut, [player_tooltip player_id="1268866" first="CJ" last="Shaw"] has emerged as one of the state’s top freshmen, and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="1226904" first="Nathan" last="Sherrard"]’s shooting has helped space the floor. The Rattlers play the role of David this week hosting 5A #1 Bishop Gorman, and #7 Foothill before ending the week in Utah. </li>
<li><strong>Cheyenne</strong> (LW) #4 – Week 3-2 Season 3-2 Next vs Shadow Ridge - The Desert Shields sandwiched wins in between two tough losses. Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id="859657" first="Donavan" last="Webster"] has played well, and senior forward [player_tooltip player_id="1338397" first="David" last="Tinner"] is a breakout player of the year candidate. Their week includes a rematch with Shadow RIdge before another rivalry game Friday vs Canyon Springs. </li>
<li><strong>Rancho</strong> (LW) UR Week 4-2 Season 4-2 - The Rams make their first appearance in the top 10 after winning the Legacy Tip-Off Classic with wins over Faith, Clovis East, Legacy, and Cheyenne. Senior Guards [player_tooltip player_id="859651" first="Jimar" last="Mitchell"] and Kei Childress have led the way this season. They travel to Legacy before a matchup with Eastside rival DP. </li>
<li><strong>Basic</strong> (LW) #10 Week 3-2 Season 3-2 The Wolves fought their way to a 3-2 week. Senior forward [player_tooltip player_id="1123633" first="David" last="Estes"] is leading the way, averaging 15 points to go along with almost 7 boards a game. Sophmore shooter [player_tooltip player_id="1330084" first="Christian" last="Baltierrez"] is off to a hot start averaging over 11ppg including a 21 point effort vs Desert Oasis.</li>
<li><strong>Green Valley </strong>(LW) UR Week 3-2 Season 3-2 - The Gators come in at number 10 after earning a victory over Shadow. They have been led by the jitterbug PG Dominick Washington and sharpshooting wing [player_tooltip player_id="1048706" first="Phoenix" last="Wortham"]. They are averaging 12ppg and 16ppg respectively. </li>
