TULSA EDISON EAGLES
OVERVIEW
Long time Edison head coach Michael Parish is no stranger to State Tournament appearances with the Eagles. Unfortunately the last time they made a trip to State was in 2020, which was cut short hours before tip off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Edison had a talented and senior laden team for that trip, which understandable led to a step back this past season with an 8-12 record. The Eagles return three starters from last year’s squad and are ready to gear up to compete in what is expected to be a deep and talented Class 5A landscape.
One of the top returnees for Edison has a familiar name, junior Luke Parish. Yes, the guard is the son of the head coach and like many sons of coaches he’s a sharpshooter from beyond the arc. Along with being one of the top players for his father’s squad, the younger Parish also competes on the gridiron as the Eagles’ starting QB. Joining with fellow junior Jay Overton Tobie, they form a promising core for Edison over the next two seasons. Another name to keep an eye on is freshman Jhett Brown, an athletic prospect that also played football and could end up having a key role for the Eagles this winter.

NOTABLE
The season starts with a bang for the Eagles. In early December they’ll be competing in one of the top tournaments in Tulsa, the Bishop Kelley Invitational. The field includes; Bishop Kelley, Mustang, Tuttle and more. Every game should be good test for Edison, meaning that capturing the crown there would be a strong signal of intentions for Edison. But before they even make it to that tournament they’ll have another match up sure to have some fireworks. They play TPS rival Tulsa Memorial on November 30th. With the familiarities between the two teams, and the same goal (a Class 5A State Championship) this contest shapes up to be one of the early season must watch match ups.
