I've been monitoring and attending games across South Florida with more to see this week. Let’s take a look at prospects that have earned recognition. For this article, I have included Martin County in this list.

*Please feel free to reach out at any of my socials for any information regarding players in South Florida*

[player_tooltip player_id="1306059" first="Elijah" last="Duval"] - Martin County

2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1306059" first="Elijah" last="Duval"] dropped 17 points and grabbed 11 boards against Sagemont. That is an impressive number on the glass from a point guard. Duval has the size (6’3) and athleticism to flirt with double-doubles all season. He is the younger brother of Trevon Duval. 2022 Nova Southeastern commit [player_tooltip player_id="829398" first="Ryan" last="Davis"] finished with 22 points, seven boards and five assists.

Ricardo Corvil - Somerset Prep North Lauderdale

2023 Ricardo Corvil grabbed 20 boards against Jupiter Christian. The 6-foot-3 forward also had eight points, five assists, six steals and three blocks. Corvil also collected 16 boards (10 offensive) against Somerset Pines on November 20th. Talk about a vacuum on the glass. 2022’s [player_tooltip player_id="956797" first="Deshayne" last="Montgomery"] (22.5 ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id="955766" first="Jaiden" last="Miller"] (16 ppg) are each off to fast starts.

[player_tooltip player_id="1161407" first="Adrian" last="Cruz"] - Sagemont

Welcome to Sagemont, [player_tooltip player_id="1161407" first="Adrian" last="Cruz"]. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard dropped 30 points in a five-point loss to Martin County. Per information, his season-high last year at Miami Southwest was 29 points against North Miami. Cruz is looking like one of the best transfers in South Florida. 2023 Cameron Gibson added 16 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="1301718" first="Shon" last="Abaev"] - Miami Country Day

2025 [player_tooltip player_id="1301718" first="Shon" last="Abaev"] buried six 3-pointers and scored 26 points against Cypress Bay. The 6-foot-5 combo guard was 9-of-15 overall from the field. I can’t say I’m very surprised at his shooting efficiency. I have tabbed Abeav as an excellent shooter from the time I've seen him and various clips. He is one of the best freshman in South Florida. He holds an offer from Florida Gulf Coast and St. John’s

Terrell Edwards - Wellington

2022 Terrell Edwards had an efficient night against South Plantation with 15 points and eight rebounds. The 6-foot-6 forward can run in transition and finish above the rim. His athleticism and length should be a problem for opponents.

Marouf Moumine - Cardinal Newman

2023 wing Marouf Moumine finished with 27 points and 13 rebounds in a victory of South Miami. Of note, this was a game was 49-48 after three quarters. The 6-foot-7 Moumine was virtually consistent throughout the entire contest. He will cause a lot of problems with his size against opposing defenders. Moumine can execute off the fast break and finish above the rim. Also watch out for him on putback attempts. Moumine is one of the better players in Palm Beach County.
