Standouts: Sunshine State Preseason Classic (Day Two/Pt. Two)

<p>I attended the Sunshine State Preseason Classic event at Cardinal Gibbons High School. Day two featured three games.</p> <p>Here is a quick look at those scores.</p> <p>North Broward Prep 53, St. Thomas Aquinas 44</p> <p>Miami Columbus 86, Suncoast 49</p> <p>Dillard 53, Stranahan 49</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1053915" first="Stone" last="Bureau"] - <em>Suncoast</em></p> <p>It was a tough night for the Chargers against a great Miami Columbus team. While only scoring nine points, I liked what I saw from [player_tooltip player_id="1053915" first="Stone" last="Bureau"]. The 6-foot point guard can fly up and down the court. Bureau has a great handle and attacked the rim. In doing so, he got fouled and took advantage on the free-throw line. Bureau would have wanted to finish on those drives, but he showed a ton of grit in the process. You can tell Bureau has skill with the ball in his hands. He is going to impress this season and shouldn't be discouraged.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1055711" first="Jordyn" last="Kee"] - <em>Dillard</em></p> <p>This was my first time taking a look at [player_tooltip player_id="1055711" first="Jordyn" last="Kee"]. The 6-foot-4 combo guard scored 12 points against rival Stranahan. I thought Kee’s first step was very quick in the halfcourt. He has nice explosion from there to get to the rim. While Kee made some plays, I think he has much more in his offensive repertoire. As a team, I would extend that as well. I thought Dillard played a so-so game. Stranahan fought them to the end and the Panthers escaped with a victory.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="963316" first="Markos" last="Myrtidis"]</strong> - S<em>t. Thomas Aquinas</em></p> <p>2023 [player_tooltip player_id="963316" first="Markos" last="Myrtidis"] scored nine points against North Broward Prep. The 5-foot-11 guard looked quick with a strong handle. I thought Myrtidis gave St. Thomas Aquinas a solid boost with his outside shot. 2022 <strong>Rice</strong> commit [player_tooltip player_id="955771" first="Andrew" last="Akuchie"] led the team with 17 points. The 6-foot-9 forward can do-it-all with his length and shooting ability. I thought his scoring versatility was on display from high to low. Akuchie will be solid all season for the Raiders. If St. Thomas Aquinas can get further production from Myrtidis and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1161400" first="Matthew" last="Cadogan"],</strong> they will be just fine.</p> <p>Jaquan Adams - Stranahan</p> <p>2022 Jaquan Adams finished with 13 points against Dillard. The 6-foot-2 guard has a ton of athleticism to score around the rim. Moreover, his makeup puts him in great position to grab rebounds. Both combinations and his overall leadership is a huge plus for this Stranahan team. Adams could be one of the better guards in Broward County.
