<p>Tip off for the 2021-22 high school basketball season is just days away, so now would be a suitable time to publish our preseason Top 10 team rankings for southeastern Pennsylvania.</p>
<p>We will start our three-part team rankings series by revealing this year’s preseason Top 10 “private school" basketball programs.</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Roman Catholic –</strong> Seniors [player_tooltip player_id="991212" first="Khalil" last="Farmer"] (Hofstra) and [player_tooltip player_id="901951" first="Daniel" last="Skillings"] (Cincinnati) as well as junior [player_tooltip player_id="991334" first="Xzayvier" last="Brown"] return for a team that posted a 10-2 record last season. 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1128376" first="Matija" last="Radunovic"], 2024 Toby Ojukwu and freshman Shareff Jackson will make major contributions.</li>
<li><strong>West Catholic –</strong> 2022 standout twins [player_tooltip player_id="1122111" first="Kaseem" last="Watson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1122112" first="Kareem" last="Watson"] (CSU-Bakersfield) will get support from senior [player_tooltip player_id="991210" first="Nasir" last="Griffin"], juniors [player_tooltip player_id="1121734" first="Zion" last="Stanford"] and Marcus Branker Jr. as well as transfer Adam “Budd” Clark.</li>
<li><strong>Perkiomen School – </strong>Elite wing player Ryann Dunn (Virginia); 6’10” Princeton commit Phillip Byriel; stretch-4 style player Thomas Haugh (numerous mid-major offers); combo-guard Xaivian Lee (Princeton); and 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1283973" first="Priest" last="Ryan"] make for a formidable lineup.</li>
<li><strong>Neumann-Goretti – </strong>6’6” wing standout [player_tooltip player_id="1279647" first="Sultan" last="Adewale"] (holds an offer from Memphis) as well as extraordinary backcourt prospects [player_tooltip player_id="1116063" first="Robert" last="Wright III"] and [player_tooltip player_id="991316" first="Masud" last="Stewart"] headline a roster stacked with next level talent.</li>
<li><strong>Allentown Central Catholic – </strong>As they look to defend their PIAA 4A state championship, the all-state duo of [player_tooltip player_id="1200803" first="Liam" last="Joyce"] and [player_tooltip player_id="991200" first="Tyson" last="Thomas"] will get a major boost from Team Final Red-2024 interior standout [player_tooltip player_id="1130840" first="David" last="Fridia"]</li>
<li><strong>Archbishop Wood –</strong> The 6A state tourney runner up (19-1) lost several key players to graduation. They will rebuild around a pair of impact transfers -- point guard [player_tooltip player_id="991202" first="Justin" last="Moore"] and forward [player_tooltip player_id="1013075" first="Carson" last="Howard"] (18 & 12 last season at Lacey in NJ). Senior Mike Knouse is a next level prospect too.</li>
<li><strong>Archbishop Carroll – </strong>Superstar guard [player_tooltip player_id="991425" first="Moses" last="Hipps"] will welcome back junior [player_tooltip player_id="991335" first="Dean" last="Coleman-Newsome"] from injury and welcome in high level transfers [player_tooltip player_id="1136565" first="Jake" last="West"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1281928" first="Shawnn" last="Smith"]. Junior wing Blake Deegan is a standout player as well.</li>
<li><strong>Archbishop Ryan – </strong>A host of prospects from last year’s PIAA 5A runner up squad have moved on to college ball. So, Ryan reloads around big fella [player_tooltip player_id="1213553" first="Thomas" last="Sorber"] (transfer); shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id="991324" first="Luke" last="Boyd"]; combo guard [player_tooltip player_id="1202211" first="Michael" last="“Zaire” Paris"] and 2024 talent [player_tooltip player_id="1173991" first="Jaden" last="Murray"].</li>
<li><strong>Holy Ghost Prep – </strong>Lefty, senior shooting guard Shane Reilly, 2023 combo guard Seamus McDermott (HG Academic Elite Camp All-Star) and 6’6” Mel Lindsay (2023) are returners for a team that won 15 games in 2020-21.</li>
<li><strong>Pope John Paul – </strong>Superb guards [player_tooltip player_id="1116044" first="JP" last="Baron"], [player_tooltip player_id="1275992" first="Jaden" last="Workman"] and Kevin Green are back for a team that went 15-2 (10-0 in BAL) in 2020-21. This group will look to build on the historic success the Class of 2021 achieved for the PJP program.</li>
