The class of 2022 is a very talented group with plenty of great prospects. With that, there were plenty of new faces we got to see over this high school offseason. Here are our picks for the top new additions to the class of 2022 rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id="1168971" first="Thomas" last="Walkowiak"]- ThunderRidge

[player_tooltip player_id="1168971" first="Thomas" last="Walkowiak"] is a fiery competitor who is looking to make some noise with the returning 5A state champs. Thomas is a lengthy guard who is a good slasher and finisher around the rim. He runs the fastbreak very well, he has a knack for filling lanes and is a good finisher through contact. On opposing fastbreaks, Thomas uses his athleticism and lengthiness to get chase-down blocks. With being a competitive player he takes defensive match-ups personally and has some pretty quick hands he uses to pickpockets to start fastbreaks. We are excited to see how Thomas will contribute to this talented ThunderRidge squad.

[player_tooltip player_id="1306022" first="Syris" last="Williams"]- Pueblo Central

[player_tooltip player_id="1306022" first="Syris" last="Williams"]is a bulky, high IQ guard who is coming off of a great off-season. Syris is a patient player who uses tight handles to navigate tricky situations. He uses his good frame to move players off his hip and create space for layups or floaters. Syris when it comes to floaters he is very good with timing the shot to get it over taller defenders. When near the rim Syris is solid in the air and can keep his composure through contact. Expect him and [player_tooltip player_id="969431" first="Kadyn" last="Betts"] to be one of the top duos in 4A this year.

[player_tooltip player_id="1284458" first="Chase" last="Miller"]- Chatfield

[player_tooltip player_id="1284458" first="Chase" last="Miller"] is a power forward who has made huge strides over this spring/summer. He plays a similar role to Luka Garza, he can bang down low but is also great at stretching the floor. Chase is an exceptional rebounder as he has a good sense of finding a body to box out. Chase is a good athlete who always seems to be one of the first players down the floor, showing off great stamina for a big man. Last year Chase helped Chatfield to a solid 10-5 season averaging 12.7 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game, he will make Chatfiled a team to look out for this year.

[player_tooltip player_id="918936" first="Zach" last="Akin"]- Ralston Valley

[player_tooltip player_id="918936" first="Zach" last="Akin"] is a wing who blew up over this AAU season being one of the top wing scorers in the state. Zach has a super quick release and good size, standing at 6’3, this allows him to hit a ton of tough shots from mid-range. He is also a good spot-up shooter from three-point land. Zach has also looked very good in pick and roll situations as he scores from anywhere on the floor and has good vision to find the roller. We would not be surprised to Zach as a top scorer in the state this year.
