Enjoy!

With scrimmage season starting, one of the biggest annual events for Oklahoma programs is the Elite 14 Showcase in Wichita Falls, Texas. At the Elite 14, Oklahoma teams get to test their mettle against top Texas, regional and nationwide teams.

Along with the chance to play top level competition, the other benefit of the Elite 14 is exposure to college coaches. With gyms all over Wichita Falls, and elite talent everywhere Division One coaches from all over the region flock to the event like it's a NCAA Live period event in July. This provides an excellent opportunity for younger players to breakout in front of college coaches, or one more chance for seniors to make a positive impression.

Let's take a look at some of the top Oklahoma players expected to be at the event.

Players to Watch (Alphabetical):

Class of 2022

[player_tooltip player_id="958389" first="Ben" last="Averitt"], 6’6 Forward, Jenks

Workman like forward, Averitt does a lot of the dirty for the Trojans around the rim while also having sneaky athleticism off the bounce. He holds offers from Central Oklahoma, East Central and Oklahoma City University.

[player_tooltip player_id="963194" first="Arzhonte" last="Dallas"], 6’0 Guard, Lawton MacArthur

One of the better floor generals in the state, the senior is expected to fill up the scoreboard for the Highlanders as they look to make another state tournament run in 5A.

Mandrell Dean, 6’1 Guard, Putnam City North

A mega athlete, already a force on the defensive end and with Putnam City North graduating much of their scoring Dean should emerge as a top scorer in the 405.

[player_tooltip player_id="955392" first="Tyreece" last="Frierson"], 5’11 Guard, Tulsa Memorial

Frierson entered high school as a big time scorer, and has added more grit and all around floor general abilities to his game as a leader for the 5A powerhouse Chargers.

[player_tooltip player_id="955380" first="Caden" last="Fry"], 6’7 Forward, Owasso

This hardworking forward has one of the best motors in the state. He’s starting to draw loads of interest and offers from regional D2 programs.

[player_tooltip player_id="955381" first="Jamel" last="Graves"], 6’7 Forward, Lawton MacArthur

A big body force in the paint, Graves joins the Highlanders after playing for rivals Lawton last season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1158049" first="Bradyn" last="Hubbard"], 6’6 Forward, Tulsa Memorial

Good size, with inside-outside ability as forward. He's another important piece for the Chargers as they look to get back on top in 5A.

[player_tooltip player_id="955379" first="Chase" last="Martin"], 6’5 Guard, Jenks

One of the top players in Tulsa, the versatile big guard holds offers from Oral Roberts and Eastern Illinois.

[player_tooltip player_id="955386" first="Isaac" last="McDoulett"], 6’5 Guard, Tuttle

With good size and good athletic ability, McDoulett shapes up to be a versatile scorer for the Class 4A contender Tigers.

[player_tooltip player_id="967448" first="Didier" last="Maleng"], 6’9 Center, RLTC Prep

The prep school standout is a force in the paint as one of the big men in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id="955382" first="Kevin" last="Overton"], 6’3 Guard, Norman North

The lefty can heat up from a hurry from beyond the arc, while having the size and athleticism to develop into a true two-way force.

[player_tooltip player_id="955391" first="Kam" last="Parker"], 6’0 Guard, Booker T Washington

Parker finished his junior year strong, emerging as an impressive scorer in isolation situations thanks to a good combination of athletic ability and skillset.

[player_tooltip player_id="1164879" first="Aaron" last="Potter"], 6’3 Guard, Booker T Washington

One of the more interesting higher upside prospects in the state, Potter has a big time wingspan and athletic ability. With more consistency to his offensive game, he could become a very popular name among college recruiters this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id="958061" first="Kaden" last="Vande"], 6’7 Wing, Tuttle

An elite shooter, brings great versatility thanks to his size. Currently holds an offer from Missouri Baptist (NAIA), but should garner a lot more interest over upcoming months.

Class of 2023

[player_tooltip player_id="1068562" first="Brandon" last="Garrison"], 6’9 Center, Del City

A game changer on the defensive end thanks to his shot blocking and rebounding ability, he’s one of the top prospects in a very loaded at the top Oklahoma Junior class. He already has offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Houston, Tulsa, and SMU.

[player_tooltip player_id="965255" first="Jeremiah" last="Johnson"], 6’4 Guard, Norman North

One of the most skilled players in the state, Johnson is making his return to the court after a lengthy break due to an off the court injury. He already holds multiple Power 5 offers (Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State Texas Tech and more), which should only grow as he continues to play this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id="1068565" first="Jarreth" last="Ingram"], 6’7 Wing, Tulsa Memorial

A transfer from a Tulsa homeschool program, he adds to an already deep Chargers team as a two-way impact player from the wing/forward position.

[player_tooltip player_id="981287" first="Terry" last="McMorris"], 6’6 Wing, Del City

A mega athlete, McMorris is still just scratching the surface of his potential as he steps into an even bigger role for last year's Class 6A State Champions Del City.

[player_tooltip player_id="981286" first="Sebastian" last="Perry"], 6’1 Guard, Heritage Hall

Perry showed how well he can shoot it last year playing with Trey Alexander, and now the savvy guard will have a chance to score in other ways.

[player_tooltip player_id="1068563" first="Trent" last="Pierce"], 6’7 Wing, Union

Pierce has next level size and shooting ability and is now starting to draw Power 5 interest with recent offers from Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Minnesota. He already held offers from in-city programs Oral Roberts and Tulsa.

[player_tooltip player_id="967378" first="Seth" last="Pratt"], 6’3 Guard, Tulsa Memorial

A light outs shooter, Pratt is starting to garner interest from regional Mid and Low Major programs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1068566" first="CJ" last="Smith"], 6’5 Guard, Heritage Hall

A promising athletic guard with good size, Smith should see an increase in offensive role for the 4A contending Chargers.

Class of 2024

David Castillo, 6’1 Guard, Bartlesville

One of the best prospects in the state, the skilled lead guard nearly holds double digit D1 and a recent gold medal with the USA Junior National team from the U16 FIBA Americas championship.

Cedric Dixon, 6’1 Guard, Union

With a silky shooting stroke, Dixon can change games in moments with his ability to make it rain from beyond the arc.

Dalen Fuller, 6’4 Guard, Union

Strong and athletic, Fuller is a promising player that if he can add to the skill side of the game would become a very interesting prospect.

Chris Mason, 6’6 Forward, Union

Long armed and athletic for his size, the big body Mason right now has the raw attributes to dominate around the rim. While also having the potential to develop into more.

Chiante Tramble, 6’2 Guard, Moore

A skilled lead guard, he was a double digit scorer as a freshman with Norman and is looking for an even bigger sophomore campaign at Moore.

Class of 2025

Jaden Nickens, 6'3 Guard, Millwood

Only a freshman, but the expectations are high for the Falcon thanks to his shooting ability, size, athleticism and his performance on a national stage for AAU programs.
