Prep Hoops Illinois checked out the talent at Stealth Runs The Next Wave this past Monday. Christopher Spartz is one of the top trainers in Chicagoland area. He hosts the event with his tremendous team. Check out who stood out to us! In Stealth Runs The Next Wave: Top Performers!

[player_tooltip player_id="996079" first="Drew" last="Meyers"] (Aurora Christian - 2022)

Meyers can flat out shoot the rock. One of the better pure catch and shoot threats in the class did just that raining in an array of triples throughout the evening. Crisp and clean shot mechanics. Also showed he is more than just a sniper with crafty and creative takes for layups and getting to the cup in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id="996084" first="Brady" last="Heckman"] (Benet - 2022)

Heckman is a guard that has an all-around solid floor game. Sound shooter that can hit open shots. Good passer including kicking to shooters off penetration. Also got a steal and took it the other way for a layup.

[player_tooltip player_id="1295486" first="Justin" last="Jakstys"] (Yorkville – 2022)

Big man has some intriguing tools. Stretch five that drained multiple threes in the games we saw with a nice looking stroke. Runs the floor well catching and transitioning to slams. Decent crashing the glass and when he got the opportunities on the block displayed a soft touch on a hook shot.

Jack Cardwell (Glenbard West – 2022)

Cardwell can really shoot the rock from his point guard spot. Hit them at a high rate throughout the event. Crisp and clean mechanics on shot. More of a spot up shooting combo guard.

Myles Stewart (DePaul Prep – 2023)

Stewart is a wiry shooting guard that was best when attacking with straight line drives and had a couple of nice passes including a wrap around.

Noah Billows (Providence Catholic – 2023)

Wing with good strength. He handled it some in the open floor threading the needle for a dime down the middle of the floor. Has a chance to develop into a decent shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id="1263134" first="Joshua" last="Whiteurst"] (Plainfield East – 2022)

Whiteurst was the top performer of the night for me. This shooting guard has a long and rangy frame with plus athleticism. Got the rim with consistency showing easy burst converting with acrobatic finishes. Crisp ball handler which led into his pull up game. Flashed some passing and was a solid wing defender.

[player_tooltip player_id="1106928" first="Max" last="Love"] (St. Charles North - 2022)

Love is a prospect that has gained momentum as a high-end small college prospect over the last few months. Wing from St. Charles North has good size and athleticism. Fluid jumper that he raises up over defenders to drain. He showed nice handles including sliding off a ball screen then splitting two other defenders for a score. Also got up for a tip dunk.

[player_tooltip player_id="1201640" first="Trey" last="Hayes"] (St. Ignatius – 2023)

Smaller point guard that brings some excitement. Drained a few threes with a release in front of his face. Was adept at converting in the paint through taller opponents with nifty takes including multiple reverse layups.

[player_tooltip player_id="1055140" first="Billy" last="Bach"] (Lyons - 2022)

Bach can shoot that thing! The Lyons senior has good positional size and is a sound spot up shooter that splashes them in at a high rate. Crashed the offensive glass offensive glass for put backs as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1199855" first="Quinton" last="Hunter"] (Lockport - 2023)

Hunter had a nice summer with the Illinois T-Wolves and he is carrying that momentum over to the spring. Lefty point guard that loves to hit corner threes spotting up. Can be a bit of a streaky shooter at times. Was good at making spinning layups in the paint against defenders. Tight handles in tight spaces. Kicks out to shooters for open shots when opportunities present themselves.

[player_tooltip player_id="1106941" first="Caleb" last="Choe"] (Conant - 2022)

Solid small college point guard that hit a couple scoop shots in the paint along with a spot up three from the corner.

[player_tooltip player_id="996075" first="Danny" last="New"] (Aurora Christian – 2022)

Tough as nails wing that brings some skill to the table. Solid three point shooter along with being able to create with he rock in his hands in the open floor. Pushes well in transition going coast to coast.

Cole Andrews (Wheaton Academy – 2022)

Five man that was a bit quiet, but showed some potential with his size along with being mobile. Shot blocking presence, hits the offensive glass, and looked fluid on a pick/pop three. Sleeper post to watch during the high school season.

[player_tooltip player_id="996081" first="Trey" last="Keizer"] (Timothy Christian - 2022)

Keizer is coming off a strong summer where he shot it well from three. In the run he hit a couple shots, had his float game working, scored off curls, and had a put back. Nice small college player.
