At an event like Let’s Get Ready V, the goal for each of the players is sometimes very simple: Turn some heads and get noticed. This can come from one singular play as well as from a solid all around day. We’re going to look at some of the players that were head turners at Let’s Get Ready V.

[player_tooltip player_id="1140931" first="Kendall" last="Bentley"] (2024, River Rouge)

Bentley has been a consistent head turner since the spring. His fluidity of motion and his ability to find lanes and cut to the rim stood out at Let’s Get Ready V. Bentley cuts pass ready and makes himself seen when slashing to the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="1300887" first="Byron" last="Brooks"] (2022, Bloomfield Hills)

Brooks turned heads at the event with his versatility. He was an influence in the lane with his ability to defend and gather some boards. Brooks could also step out on the perimeter and defend as well as be a threat to score.

Kaleb Brown (2025, Ann Arbor Huron)

Brown turned heads because of perimeter rebounding. He had a nose for the ball and consistently read the bounce of the rim. Brown went after boards from the perimeter with speed and intensity.

[player_tooltip player_id="987279" first="Jayden" last="Hardiman"] (2023, Warren Mott)

Hardiman has made a habit out of garnering attention at showcase events this fall. This time, it was his defense that stood out. He made some momentum changing stops and had some huge blocks in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id="1076004" first="Donovan" last="McDonald"] (2023, Croswell-Lexington)

McDonald stood out because of his strength under the rim. He’s always been an influence because of his bounciness, but at Let’s Get Ready, he showed some added muscle that led to to put back points.

Andrew Neumann (2022, Plainwell)

I’ll classify Neumann as a head turner because I’ve never evaluated him, and he sure made it worth my while. The young man has a really solid all around game. He’s a good shooter, has solid handles, and is a plus defender.

[player_tooltip player_id="1111924" first="EJ" last="Ryans"] (2024, Northview)

Ryans was a big time head turner at Let’s Get Ready V. It was his 3 point shot that probably stood out the most. It seemed like every time I turned my head in his direction he was hitting another one.

[player_tooltip player_id="863960" first="Trucel" last="Singleton"] (2022, Benton Harbor)

Singleton was easily one of the top players at the event. He was money finishing at the rim with his right and seemed to draw contact, shrug it off, and finish. Singleton’s passion for the game and hustle really stood out.

[player_tooltip player_id="1300905" first="David" last="Thomas"] (2023, Saginaw Heritage)

The speed of Thomas’ overall growth in his game is what stood out to me. He’s bouncy and athletic and could score close to the rim, but he seemed to extend his range on Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id="987644" first="Tyran" last="Thomas"] (2023, Northview)

Thomas was just nasty at this event. He did it all....from big defensive plays to highlight reel finishes. Every aspect of his game stood out. If Thomas plays like this consistently through high school season it spells big trouble for Northview opponents.

Darryl Thompkins Jr. (2025, Michigan Collegiate Academy)

Thompkins Jr. has a very bright future ahead of him and he showed that again at Let’s Get Ready V. His ball handling was terrific and stood out. Specifically, Thompkins Jr. showed a nasty inside-out dribble combo.

Joshua Turman (2022, Ann Arbor Pioneer)

Turnan turned heads as a sleeper at the event. He sent a message to the rest of the SEC Red, that’s for sure. Turman is a strong player that moves well for his size. He hustles back on D consistently and can use his strength on offense to gain position and get buckets.

Danny Wolak (2025, Davison)

I’ve always like Wolak’s court vision and passing, but he stood out for another reason on Saturday. He showed the ability to bury a catch and shoot triple at the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="1300912" first="DONNY" last="YEAGER"] (2024, Saginaw Nouvel)

Yeager turned a ton of heads with his shooting at the event. He was quite simply an in the gym threat to shoot. In fact, Yeager might have had the best beyond the arc shooting day of anyone.

[player_tooltip player_id="1140335" first="MJ" last="Yeager"] (2024, Saginaw Nouvel)

I really wanted to see Yeager fill it up from beyond the arc, and he didn’t disappoint. Make or miss, his jumper looked really smooth and pure.
