McDonald really controlled the paint in this game. His defensive mobility and footwork really stood out. He had lateral movement that most high school post players don’t have. McDonald slid over nicely to provide help D in the paint. He played disciplined defense, staying vertical and staying out of foul trouble. Better yet, McDonald showed the ability to defend on the perimeter when the situation called for it as well. This is a young man with a ton of skill present and even more upside to add

McDonald really should see his recruitment pick up and gain steam ASAP. He has a lot to offer a college program, and truth be told, I firmly believe that he’s being very under recruited. I love the way he can work from the perimeter, the baseline. McDonald could be a huge asset from the mid range at the next level, a young man that can deliver high percentage looks and capitalize on them. McDonald has a feel for the action and spacing comes natural to him. He does a great job of finding lanes or creases and giving his ball handlers a passing option when they attack the rim off the bounce. McDonald is incredibly underrated when it comes to his passing. They aren’t passes or assists that you’ll see on SportsCenter, but trust me, they’re equally as effective. He can kick out fron the paint as well as hit a moving guard on target down the floor off a rebound. In my opinion, this young man should receive interest and offers within the next month. I think that his game will carry over nicely to the next level and he will make a coach very happy.
